Studebaker 289 V-8
1960 Studebaker Silver Hawk
This is a very solid car that spent the last decade or so outdoors in the very dry climate of Arizona. This car is being sold at NO RESERVE and will be sold AS-IS, WHERE IS, with no warranty whatsoever, nor any warranty of the fitness for any specific use or purpose. LOCAL PICKUP ONLY in a Phoenix-suburb of Arizona. This vehicle will be sold with a clean, clear Arizona title free of any liens or encumbrances. The mileage of 64,176 miles in this listing is what the odometer shows, however it is not to be relied upon because it has a 5-digit odometer and also the car's mileage history is unknown.Much of the car's history is unknown, however I purchased this car from a collector who bought it and never operated the car. It is extremely original and very complete, and has very minimal surface rust in very few areas, some with no rust at all. The sheet metal is also very straight, appears to have no prior collision damage, and even all of the chrome/brightwork is in excellent (though original and unrestored) condition. The current seller believes the car was in running condition when it was parked many years ago. The collector had dozens of vehicles, all of which were purchased in excellent condition, complete, original or restored, and running. We have no knowledge or reason to think this car was any different. The front windshield and rear window (backlight) and the rubber seal and any moldings are completely missing, and appear to have been off the car for much of the time it was outdoors. As a result, although Arizona doesn't get much rain, the rain was able to enter and ruin what appears to be the original interior.Despite having been stored outdoors, it's very reasonable to think this car would be a good base for a restoration, or for an excellent source of nearly every part of this type of car. It's even possible that after draining the gas, cleaning the inside of the gas tank and fuel lines and carburetor, replacing the fuel pump, fuel filter(s) and rubber portions of the fuel lines (may be cracked & dry from the heat & age), with a new battery and all powertrain fluids changed, that the engine could run again.More photos are available upon request. While I don't know much more about the car other than what's included here, I'm happy to answer any questions the best I can. We sincerely care about our buyer's satisfaction and their buying experience, and make every effort to fully disclose as much factual and accurate information as possible in our listings for the vehicles and items we sell. We strongly encourage potential buyers to ask any questions, and conduct as much research about the item BEFORE BIDDING.
