1973 Chevrolet VEGA GT

Vehicle Details

1973 Chevrolet Vega GT (Millionth Edition) Orange with White Stripes FOR SALE. This vehicle is in 99% original condition and unmolested. BODY: There are areas of rust but nothing I would consider extreme. It lived in dry climates and the usual rust these have around windows and truck spare tire areas are present due to poor original seals. I believe the paint is original but cannot confirm. There are no visible evidences to suggest otherwise. There are dents and body damage but not severe. INTERIOR: The steering wheel is weathered and very sticky to touch. Carpet is destroyed and will need replacement. Seats and interior components are in fair usable condition. All electrical appears to function less fuel gauge. Vehicle has NO a/c. DRIVETRAIN: Motor runs when last driven which was several years ago (2020). It was driven where it is parked. The fuel pump is in the gas tank and it has failed. Gas was recently poured in carb and car starts. When it was last driven it did not smoke excessively and ran normally on the 20 mile trip it was driven. That being said I have no way to rate the condition of the motor. You should assume it will need overhaul as all these cars lasted a short period of time before requiring such. The transmission was operable but leaks fluid excessively. Brakes worked when driven. The carb has been replaced. An air cleaner will be needed. HISTORY: If you are reading this ad you likely know what this is and how rare it is. A little over 6000 of these cars were built in this special edition orange/white. Most were converted to V8s and destroyed. Few remain. This is an original unmolested survivor. It is not perfect but has been kept inside and it is not a junk heap. I would suspect at minimum with a good paint job and some minor repairs it could be driven and enjoyed. It was my intention to keep it for a parts car for my other millionth Vega which I am restoring. I have other parts cars now and this one is too nice for that. Hopefully someone can take it to the next level and enjoy the rare piece of 70's history. IF YOU BUY IT: You are responsible to pick it up where it is in Fort Worth, Texas. If you want a 3rd party to deliver it to you I will assist in that process of helping connect with your delivery person to load the car. If you want it delivered to you depending on where you are, I'd entertain the idea of having one of my employees bring it to you in an enclosed trailer or flat bed car carrier for an addition cost. TBD.
