1972 Volkswagen Beetle - Classic

1972 VW beetle that I purchased in 2019 so my older daughter could learn to drivea stick shift.. At that time the car had stock 1600 engine, drum brakes and stock ride height.When she moved on the car sat around. In the meantime, a friend who had a sand buggy wasupgrading and asked if I was interested in the 1915 engine from that car. After prepping that engineadding dual Webber 40 IDF's, adding 4 wheel disk brakes with handbrake hook up, drop spindles custom fit wheels andtires the Beetle became more of a toy. Unfortunately, that engine had been beat up for so many years the magnesium casestarted to spread and leak. That is when I had the current engine built by EMS in Inglewood. Engine is a 78 X 94 2165cc in a Supercase, Scat crank (8 dowel)and rods. Ported 044 heads with 40mm intake and 35.5mm exhaust valves, Mahle pistons and cylinders (8.5 compression ratio, 125 cam, 1.25 rockers and oil sump,New from Redline 48 IDF Webbers with 36mm venturis, full MSD ignition system with adjustablerev limiter. Stainless A1 exhaust system. Starter is a High Torque Performance Products. Engine was dyno tested and makes about 165 HP. Transaxle wad built by Kevin at TransWest,3:80 1st, 2;06 2nd, 1:31 3rd and 0;89 4th. Superdiff, covers prep, 930 Porsche flanges and CV joints.Chassis has truss system, trans brace and solid motor mounts. Kinitech Atomwerks adjustable spring plates andfull bearing torsion bar covers. Pans have been repaired, looks like the front of car was hit at some point and repaired. Body and paint in fair shapeThere are several touch up spots around the whole car. Nice driver but definitely not show. I never worry about door dings or scratches.Many stock parts go along with the sale. Original drum brakes front and rear, some emissions stuff, stock wheels and hub caps and rear suspension parts.
