1958 Chevrolet Brookwood 6-Passenger Station Wagon
1958 Chevrolet Brookwood
The Brookwood was a series of full-size station wagons produced by Chevrolet from 1958 to 1961. The Brookwood was positioned as the mid-range offering between the more expensive Nomad model, and the entry-level Yeoman. Both 2-door and 4-door variants were produced during the Brookwood’s 4-year run. Brookwood’s were sold in both 6 and 9 passenger configurations and the “1693” style code designates this particular Brookwood as an original 6-passenger wagon.
This Brookwood was produced by General Motors of Canada and is finished in red paint with option “834” Gray & Black Cloth/Vinyl interior. Having undergone a a complete restoration prior to its current ownership, the wagon’s paint shows well with only minor flaws visible around the rear hatch area. All the chrome, glass, and brightwork present beautifully without any pitting or blemishes. The interior upholstery is in equally excellent condition and is free of any nicks, rips, or tears.
The upgraded 454 big block V8 replaces the wagon’s original 348 cu. in. motor for added power. Additional improvements include power disc brakes, power steering, A/C, Sniper electric fuel injection, and a custom suspension by Hotckis Sport Suspensions -- all of which add to the drivability of the wagon.
This Brookwood was acquired by its current enthusiast owners at the 2017 Hot August Nights Collector Car Auction and is now offered for sale as they make room in their collection.
