1965 Shelby Cobra Backdraft

Coyote-Powered Factory Five Racing Mk4 Roadster 5-Speed
This Factory Five Racing Mk4 Roadster is a Shelby Cobra replica that was purchased new by the seller as a kit approximately two-and-a-half years ago and subsequently completed in 2023. Power is provided by a 5.0-liter Ford Coyote V8 paired with a Tremec TKO five-speed manual transmission and a Ford Performance 8.8″ differential, and the car is finished in gray over black upholstery. Features include an independent suspension with adjustable coilovers, 17” Halibrand-style wheels, Wilwood four-wheel disc brakes, and side-exit exhaust pipes along with chrome roll hoops and bumpers, heated bucket seats, and Simpson four-point harnesses. This Mk4 Roadster is now offered with a sales invoice, an assembly manual, a wiring diagram, two keys, spare parts, and an Oregon title in the seller’s name listing the car as a 1965 FFRI.
The fiberglass body is finished in gray, and chrome trim adorns both roll hoops, the front bumperettes, and the rear bumper. Additional exterior details include a LeMans-style fuel cap, dual side-view mirrors, fender vents, wind wings, and side-exit exhaust pipes. An uninstalled front chrome grille is included in the sale.
Halibrand-style 17” wheels are mounted with Firestone Firehawk Indy 500 tires measuring 255/40 up front and 315/35 out back. Braking is handled by red Wilwood-branded calipers at all four corners squeezing ventilated two-piece rotors with aluminum hats. The car rides on a four-wheel independent suspension with Koni adjustable coilovers and adjustable front and rear control arms.
The cabin houses heated low-back bucket seats trimmed in black upholstery, and Simpson four-point harnesses are fitted for both occupants. Appointments include black carpets protected by Factory Five-branded floor mats, dual cup holders, two USB outlets, translucent sun visors, and toggle switches for vehicle functions.
A leather-wrapped steering wheel sits ahead of a Factory Five instrumentation that includes a reverse-sweep 180-mph GPS speedometer and 8k-rpm tachometer as well as an analog clock and a suite of auxiliary gauges. The digital odometer indicates 35 miles.
The 5.0-liter Ford Coyote V8 features a silicone air intake as well as an aluminum radiator with an electric cooling fan, and it sends power to the rear wheels via a Tremec TKO five-speed manual transmission and a Ford Performance 8.8″ differential with 3.55:1 gearing. A printout from a dyno run is provided in the gallery and shows results of 456 horsepower and 427 lb-ft of torque.
Additional underbody images are provided in the gallery below. According to the seller, an undercoating has been applied to the frame and inner body shell.
A Factory Five Racing sales invoice, an assembly manual, a wiring diagram, two keys, and an assortment of spare parts are included in the sale.
The current Oregon title carries a “Replica” brand and describes the year and make of the vehicle as a 1965 FFRI using the VIN F5F1009787RD, shown above
