We imported this Land Rover from the United Kingdom. We bought this off of an individual in Derrygonnelly, UK.
As we mentioned in the title this is a project vehicle. What is nice about this Defender is the fact that it is completely original and is a low mileage Defender with having only covered 90,414 miles. While at the port the dock workers ran it out of diesel, so there is still some air in the fuel system, the fuel system will either need to be primed to get the air out or drive it for a while to get all of the air out. As it sits, it starts fine with a bit of starting fluid and idles nicely. We have also driven it and it runs well and goes through the gears just fine.
Please watch the below video to get an idea of the overall vehicle condition, here is a list of things that we noticed:
- footwells need to be replaced- back section of the exhaust needs to be replaced- bulkhead needs repairs done to it- rear cross member needs to be replaced- chassis needs patching in various places at bare minimum as can be seen in the video, this is an ideal candidate for a galvanized chassis swap- lower B pillar has visible corrosion- heater does not turn on, most likely an electrical issue- tires are dry rotted- rear doors need to be replaced
We purchased a certified copy of a factory record from the British Motor Industry Trust (as can be seen in the second to the last photo) and this shows that the vehicle was originally delivered to "The Land Rover Centre".
