1969 Dodge Charger RT

1969 Dodge Charger RT For consignment, and now gracing our Hallowed Halls here at the Classic Auto Mall, we give you a tribute car to the TV show that has us grabbing our couches with excitement as the car jumped its way to fame. Wearing its original, (well, original to the TV show), paint, painted on 01 decals, larger than life stars and bars on the roof, along with General Lee lettering on the drip edge, and large trunk mounted antennae, welcome to Hazzard County ladies and gentlemen. Exterior Bathed in its TV appearance orange and this car upon close inspection is really nicely done. All rust free straight steel with well minded gaps and the paint is nearly perfect. The signature push bar/grille guard is present, and behind it is a perfectly presenting black hidden headlight grille and bumper below. Orange takes over for the hood and front quarters, and moves back to the stainless trimmed under roof glass which has slight tint. The roof has General Lee and the Stars and bars painted on and it's just perfectly done. Moving downward to the doors, things are solid and straight with their painted on 01. As we move back the rear quarters roll over to meet the flying buttress B pillars and on top of the drivers side a racing gas cap filler. Between the pillars on the center trunk lid is a CB whip antenna. The back is in black and houses dual horizontal tail lights and another perfectly polished bumper below. On all 4 corners are 14-inch American Racing Vector wheels wrapped in black wall rubber. What do you call a farmer with a sheep under each arm?..What?...A Playboy. Interior The nice thing about this tribute car is it retains all the creature comforts that came with a 1969 Charger. We start with the black door panels, nice black smooth vinyl, a black pouch, and fine armrest. Inside low back cream vinyl buckets have plenty of black wear off aging within their confines. A high center armrest is in, and this can be lifted to form another front seat. As we move forward on the black carpeted hump, we see a long armed Hurst shifter. Before the back bench is a roll bar inserted. By the way, the back bench is cream vinyl and also has the black aging. Upfront the dash is pure 69 Charger style with a black padded top and wood appliqué front. Many round black faced gauges and toggles lineup on this dash front. This car has had the radio deleted and replaced with a much more useful CB radio below the dash. On the glovebox lid most all the characters signatures are present and accounted for, hey it's a tribute car! Above is a tight black headliner. Creature comforts and ready to roll. Y'all got your ears on? Come back? Drivetrain Opening the hood, we are greeted with a wonderful looking non original but era-correct 440ci V8. It has an orange painted block, a chromed and badged in orange Magnum 440 air cleaner covering, cast ribbed valve coverings and a cast intake manifold topped by a 4-barrel Holley carb. An era-correct A833 4-speed manual trans is on back and it pushes power to the rear 8-3/4 inch axle. All buttoned up under this one hood. Even under the hood it is excellent. Alas! I need to mention the Dixie horn setup in front of the radiator. Oh I wish I was in the land of cotton.... Undercarriage Fully restored and devoid of any Hazzard County road dirt and mud. All black straight rust free steel and looking near perfect. Independent torsion bars in front and leaf springs in back. Disc brakes upfront and drums in back along with some Cherrybomb mufflers. You know what happens when a politician takes Viagra?...he gets taller. Drive-Ability Sitting behind this wheel brought me back to my high school prom and driving my grandfather's Charger. Yup the back seat got used! But I digress...this car fired up and it ran just beautifully. Easy shifting and smooth endless acceleration. I kept looking in my rear view mirror for the Po Po but they never showed. So I dropped off my load of hooch and returned to the Mall. I did notice on my way the wiper high speed setting doesn't work, and the clutch pedal sticks to the floor when fully depressed. All else worked just fiiiiine. Owning a vehicle with this color paint and livery will definitely make you the talk of the town, and may even instigate a few chases, even though they may be unwarranted, or warranted...OOOPS!...But But But Ossifer...
