Stock Number: 1927 - There are only 38,675 miles on the Trans AM. It is 1 of only 2,485 available in 1979. That is less than 3% of the production for 1979. That makes this Pontiac a real collectable. Trans AM's optioned like these are considered some of the most collectible of the late 2nd Gen TA's on the market. 1979 marked the culmination of the Best features built into one TA and also marked the end of the Big Cubic Inch Pontiac V8's. The W72 400 was never to be seen again. The WS6 handling option received the highly desirable 4 Wheel Disc Brakes and this put the Trans AM into a new class or performance cars. With its torque and deep rumble, the 400ci Pontiac was the biggest engine of the year for GM in a Sports Car. Even the Corvette would only be offered with a 350ci V8.

This TA is a solid low mile example that we acquired down in the Big Easy - New Orleans. It was sold New at Adams Pontiac in Indiana in February 1979. That ownership lasted until 2016 when the 2nd owner purchased it. It has always been well cared for and required minimal detailing when we received it. This Trans AM was repainted in 1988. The original engine and transmission were rebuilt in 2022. The engine was built with better heads (#96) and a performance CAM. There is some real Pontiac Excitement that is felt when you drive this Trans AM. The engine and drive-line are in excellent condition. There are New Year One Wheels installed and BF Goodrich Radial TA Tires. The interior is in beautiful original condition. If you want a top of the line, low mileage, collectible Trans AM that is ready to drive and enjoy, this is the one you have been waiting for.
