Description:

1968 Plymouth Barracuda

1968 Plymouth 426 Hemi Barracuda 4-Speed Dana Rear. NEEDS ENGINE WORK.

This is a 1968 Hemi Plymouth Barracuda. Street/Strip car. (This car recently finished a two-year $125,000 complete rotisserie restoration). Body is perfect, laser straight, 100% rust free. Gorgeous paint. Flawless interior. Bottom of the car is as nice as the top.

This car has the correct Superstock bolt on factory fiberglass nose, fenders, and hood. Bumpers are lightweight metal acid dipped. Lightweight windows, (drivers and passenger side windows are seatbelt operated). Superstock interior, seats, door panels, vintage gauges, everything is 100% correct. NHRA legal 6-point roll cage. Superstock frame connectors, rear springs moved inboard. Wilwood front disk brakes, car stops on a dime! 90/10 front drag shocks with fully adjustable rear shocks. Superstock trunk mounted battery with on/off switch. Side mirror/heater/radio delete. Everything is new front to back. Car has been street driven as well as raced. Also has a set of brand new M/T rear drag radials, just one pass on them. Car will come off the line with the front wheels in that air every time and goes down the quarter mile arrow straight. Car ran a best quarter mile ET so far of 11.67 granny shifting without pushing it.

***Under the hood is a Gen II 426 Hemi. Mopar/Callies block, standard bore with a stroker billet crank bringing the cubic inches up to 480. Billet connecting rods, forged pistons with 12.5 to 1 compression. Solid roller cam. Stage 5 aluminum heads, and a factory cross ram with the correct 770 Holley carbs. Total run time on the engine is less than 10 hours.

***NOTE: THE ENGINE HAS LOW OIL PRESSURE,8-10 PSI at idle, and 20-25 PSI at 2,000 RPM.UPON FURTHER INSPECTION THERE IS SOME METAL IN THE OIL. This means that the engine will need to be pulled and gone through. Engine starts and runs. My best guess as to what may be wrong with the engine is a bad rod bearing.

Transmission is a correct A833 18 spline Hemi 4-speed with cryo-treated gears, and a billet input shaft retainer. It also has a McCleod dual disc clutch and scatter shield. It has a period correct Hurst Super Shifter with reverse lockout. Aluminum driveshaft with loop.

The rear is a Dana 60 with a spool and 4.56 Gears, it also has Strange Engineering Axles. The car also has the correct Super Stock leaf springs. Car also has a line lock, and Simpson driver harness.

Car has a clean title and can be registered to drive on the street. The car is NHRA legal Super Stock class.

The car has been street driven a total of about 50 miles and run at the track 6 times.

This car turns heads and draws crowdswhereverit goes.
