Up for sale here we have an ultra rare Allard Laser J2X Replica Kit Car built by Elite Enterprises in Cokato, Minnesota. The Allard Motor Company was founded in 1936 and was a London based car manufacturer that specialized in race cars. In the 1940’s and 50’s, Sydney Herbert Allard was winning races all over Europe and America, including a first place finish at Pebble Beach and a podium finish at the 24 Hour Le Mans. Allard Motor Company closed their doors in 1964 but the impact they had on the future of automobiles was undeniable. Both Carrol Shelby (creator of the Shelby Cobra) and Zora Duntov (commonly referred to as “Father of the Corvette”) were young race car drivers for the Allard Motor Company and were greatly inspired by their work at Allard. Although only 83 of these J2X’s were ever produced, they were by far the fastest and most successful racers of the Allard collection. This Allard J2X Replica for sale here is finished in a bright red gelcoat with chrome accents all around and a black interior. This is a beautiful example full of nice vintage details such as the side mounted spare with leather straps securing the rear view mirror on top, real wire wheels, antique style chrome headlights and spotlights in good working order, authentic vintage racing windshields made in England, front and rear custom bumpers, hood leather straps, functional vintage sounding horn, quad chrome exhaust, various British flag accents, and much more to be mentioned. The interior offers a Mahogany wooden steering wheel and brushed metal dash with chrome Classic Instrument gauges, a black bench with red lap seatbelts and black door panels and carpeting throughout, a very nice and clean interior. This Allard Tribute is powered by an 1969 dual port VW engine with only 4541 miles since completed, mated with a 4 speed manual transmission, super clean engine compartment. Runs and drives well, brand new carburetor, transmission shifting gears very well, the only thing that will need attention is the brakes, probably a bleeding, car was siting in a garage for the past couple of years..... Decent size automobile, very wide rear similar to a Shelby Cobra, no wonder since Carol Shelby was inspired by Allard in order to build his famous cobra ! Clean title in hand, titled as year 1969, that was the year of the donor VW car, ready to go to a new home..... not new or perfect but still very nice and ultra rare, will be impossible to find another one for this price ..... you'll definitely need a vintage leather pilot helmet and some retro race goggles !!!
