Selling my beloved 1985 Volvo 240, a true testament to automotive history. This timeless classic has been a part of my life for the last 24 years and had undergone a thrilling transformation in 2009-2010 when it was expertly converted into a V8 powerhouse by Converse Engineering. There is a LOW reserve and I am not looking to recuperate the total cost. I am just looking to find my 240 a good home.

Previous Owners (From Older Carfax Report) Owner #1: 1985-1993 with 102,541 miles on the odometer Owner #2: 1993-1996 with 113,083 miles on the odometer Owner #3(Self): Purchased the car with about 113,185 miles which I drove as a commuter car from 1999-2003 (100mile daily commute). The car was kept in my garage from 2003 to today with less than 3,000 miles since the V8 conversion in 2010. The motor can produce around 400 HP with bigger injectors and 450-500+ with mild Supercharging. - New Rear Driver Side Tail-light (Sep/23). There is a slight mismatch with the passenger taillight.

- New Front Right/Left Turn Signal Covers (Oct/23)

Body / Suspension / Upgrades

- Volvo 240 GL with 177,500 Body Miles - Pre-1986 Style - Body Weight 3,090LBS - Very Similar to a Fox Body Mustang. Typical Volvo 240 weight distribution 51/49 Unloaded & 45/55 Loaded - Stock Dana 30 differential with Stock 3.31 Rear End Gear Ratio (Previous Manual Transmission) - Bilstein Front & Rear Shocks (B6 Performance) from IPD (Installed around 2003) - IPD Sway Bars (Installed around 2003). Swapped front for a custom sway bar later to clear the V8 motor - Custom ADDCO V6 Front Sway Bar with Poly Bushings (Stock 240 IPD didn't fit the V8 and IPD didn't make the 260 Sway Bars anymore). Cost me close to $350 back in 2009 for the ADDCO since they had to do a "custom run" for one piece since they didn't produce it anymore - Last paint job was done in 2000 but it holds pretty good - Metallic Red (Foxfire) - Some nicks/chips on Trunk (See Pics) - Interior is very clean - No carpet stains or anything - Headliner was reconditioned. Trunk Carpet is new. - Dynamat Sound Insulation on Roof/Trunk/Door/Floor Panels. Closing interior doors sounds like Vault doors. (See Trunk Pic) - Stock 14" Volvo 240 Wheels - Not Enough Traction. Car will spin tires up to 4th Gear. - Custom One Piece Drive Shaft - Pioneer Front/Rear Speakers but on typical late 80s cassette radio. I am mostly a Radio guy and the Speakers sound Great

Needs Attention/Recommended Upgrades / Miscellaneous - Warning: Both rear ATE Calipers do not engage the brakes (frozen) due to sitting for 12+ Years. Current Braking capacity is at 30% and driving the car will be dangerous in rain. Replacement Calipers are included. Just need to be installed - Warning: Need to replace all Rotors. Existing ones have surface rust/pitting. New Rotors are included. Just need to be installed - Warning: Front End needs wheel alignment. Address after new wheels. - Warning/Upgrade: All tires are 20+ Years Old. Recommend replacing with new/wider wheels and tires. - Warning: AC Works (R134A) and Cools down but there is a leak in the system that needs to be fixed. Flush and R134A Seal replacement are recommended. AC Seals will have to be replaced with BLUE R134-rated Seals. - Upgrade: Current DANA 30 differential will need to be upgraded to a limited-slip (LSD) differential for proper traction - Upgrade: Current Fuel Injectors (19lbs) will max the duty cycle at around 330HP. Will have to upgrade for additional Power. A new calibration tube for the C&L Throttle body will be required for bigger injectors(Can find these on E-bay). - Upgrade: PAXTON Supercharger with a MAX Safe HP of 450HP+. The block has upper/lower braces for durability but the stock 302 block can reliably support up to 500 HP. Anything more that that you are playing with fire.

MISC

- Front Bumper Middle (Volvo Part #1312899) Chrome trims ar missing (misplaced during the conversion- Will have to look if I still have it). The Left/Right trims are available will be stored in the Trunk. (See Pic)

- Some bumper trim Clips might need to be replaced and reseat the rear bumper trim (Volvo Part #1372113)

- Interior Dash and rear seatbelt housings (Volvo Part #1294746 - 1294747) are cracked due to sun damage. Very typical of the 200 Series. I can see new reproductions on E-Bay for about $85 for the Pair. See Pics/Video

- Driver's seat back foam is sagging on the right side (Cosmetic only - Cloth is excellent). New Foams are available from IPD for 200$+ or get from a junkyard. - Some Front Windshield Chrome Trim clips (Volvo Part #PCK-404-79-G - Molding Clip Kit) are broken, and the trim is slightly raised a little on the driver's side. No water leaks or any other issues rather than having some wind noise at 60+ Mph. Will need all clips to be replaced and reseat the Chrome Trim. Recommending a glass professional. (See Pic)

- Both Original Driver (Volvo Part #DP64288) and Passenger (Volvo Part #DP64289) side pockets are Included but not mounted. See pic. These will be included with the car

- Air/Fuel Indicator Gauge is not patched to any of the 2 Oxygen Sensors. The current reading is false. The wiring should be under the passenger side kick panel - Recommend having the car Professionally undercoated since some of the undercoating was stripped. Repair/Undercoating work was done in the past.
