1951 Henry J, a very popular race car from back in the '60's during the Gasser Wars!Are you looking for a Gasser? This Henry is one of the finest around, the car is all steel, with ZERO rust!
Inside is black tuck n roll w/ 2 racing seats, approved harness, a '55 Chevy dash that has been grafted into the doors completing the dash when the door is closed. An 8 point approved cage with driver swing out bar, Autometer Pro tach and gauges, removeable steering wheel and a B&M Prostick shifter w/line lock.
Chassis, is original and fabricated as necessary, up front is a Speedway straight axle kit with disc brakes, Vega steering box, rear is a ladder Bar system with QA 1 coil over shocks, a 9" Ford rear end, nodular iron 3rd member with spool and 4.88 gears, 31 spline Quick Performance axles with disc brakes. A balanced driveline with heavy duty u-joints and driveshaft safety loops.
Engine, a 502 GM block bored to .030 over making 509 CI, pistons are SRP 14.1 compression, Eagle H beam rods w/ARP bolts all hooked to a Eagle crank completing a balanced rotating assembly. Heads are aluminum Brodix "Big Brodie" 2X, swirl polished valves.A set of Comp Cams ultra pro magnum rocker arms and push rods, and a Brodix stud girdle, finishing up the valve train is a solid roller Custom Cams Inc. camshaft featuring a 4/7 swap, Duration @ .050 is .287 .296, Lift is .802 .758. Keeping everything lubed is a Mellinghigh volume pump and a Champ 10qt. pan. Spark comes from a locked MSD Pro Billet distributor and Taylor wires. All hooked to a MSD Digital 6AL box, MSD HVC coil and a MSD starter saver.
Induction, a Edelbrock Victor Ram Manifold sports a Enderle mechanical fuel injection set up with a 80A-1 pump and a Enderle Bird Catcher. A Moon 4gal. tank provides enough alcohol for a race!
Transmission, a Garrison Performance prepared 2 speed Powerglide has a manual valve body, aluminum fined deep pan and Art Carr converter.
I have raced this car many years in the Mid-west and the Pacific Northwest, Runs strong and straight with a best 1/4 mile time of 9.13 @ 137mph. 1/8 mile runs 6.20's and is very consistent.
The car has a clear title.
