You are looking at an absolutely wicked hot rod that will turn heads with the rumble of the exhaust and hold their gaze with the jaw dropping good looks. This car checks so many boxes it is hard to describe! Sexy. Sleek. Show Quality. Tough. Mean. Wild. Classy. It has a little bit of everything.
The build started with a custom gloss black narrowed frame. A Downs body was bolted to that and painted in gloss black as well for a classic hot rod look. Purple accents on the drop axle and the Ford 9" rear end really pop! Pair that with custom 18" and 20" black wheels with a polished lip and you have a one off street rod that is sure to impress. Looking at this car from the back, the first thing you will notice is the sleek custom bumper, teardrop headlights, and those big old meats! 33x22R20 Mickey Thompson Sportsman tires look phenomenal and give all the traction you could ever need. Up front 28x10R18 tires are the perfect fit for the open air front end.
The engine sounds amazing and looks ever better. It is a built 355 cubic inch that inhales through dual Edelbrock 500 CFM carburetors perched on a Weiand tunnel ram intake. Spark is provided by an MSD Street Fire ignition to an MSD billet distributor. Exhaust fumes are released with a gnarly rumble through zoomie headers! An aluminum radiator with electric fan keeps that V8 nice and cool while you cruise in style. Billet pullies and a chrome alternator add a touch of bling to the engine, which is painted gloss black to match the car.
The suspension consists of an inverse leaf spring with shocks in the front and Hot Rod coilover shocks in the rear. 4-wheel disc brakes provide plenty of grab, so this beauty can stop on a dime.
Drop the canvas top, or remove it completely and slide inside the ultra-leather interior with Banjo steering wheel, and Autometer gauges set in a billet gauge bezel. A tall shifter brings the wild spirit a street rod should possess into the cockpit and ties in nicely to the billet pedals.
In the trunk you will find the continuation of the roll bars, a fuel cell, and the battery with quick disconnect to keep it from draining while the car is in storage. The owner really did think of everything with this build!
