Description:

1962 Chevrolet Nova

I bought this Chevy II in 1986 from Myers Ford in Elton, VA. At that time it was a 23,000 mile no rust ever stocker with a six cylinder engine and a Powerglide transmission. The black exterior and red interior are correct factory colors. The car currently shows 35,600 original miles. Other than the rug, which was installed to match the floor contour since a four speed transmission was installed, the interior is completely original to the car including: seats, door panels, headliner, kick panels, dash, steering column, steering wheel, and package tray. This is a factory radio delete car with the original chrome radio block off plate in place. The exterior is finished in two stage Spies/Hecker as is the underside of the car. The grille, trim, bumpers, moulding, brightwork, and emblems are either NOS or restored original parts. The drivetrain consists of a 400 SBC engine, aluminum intake manifold, Holley 3310 carburetor, MSD ignition and distributor, Ed Henneman equal length ceramic coated headers, cast M/T valve covers, Canton 1962-67 V-8 oil pan, and a true 2-1/2 inch aluminized exhaust system that exits behind the rear wheels. The trunk mounted battery system includes a Flaming River safety switch. The transmission is a newly built Muncie M-20 with a new flywheel, clutch, pressure plate, release bearing, fork, and correct GM Chevy II V-8 Bellhouse. The differential is a GM ten bolt with posi-traction and 3.42 gearing. The brake system and suspension are all new and include power front disc and rear drum brakes. The GM X-Body 1962-67 power disc conversion was sourced through The Right Stuff as were the correct combination valve, and stainless steel brakes lines. The front suspension includes Church Boys upper and lower control arms, a Church bar (sway bar), and Snokes Metal Barn upper shock tower brace. The Chris Alston Varishock system was also supplied through Church Boys. The front end alignment was completed by Auto Service of Old Saybrook (CT). The rear suspension includes parallel mono leaf springs, coil over shocks, custom built traction bars, and frame connectors. The rear wheels are OEM GM from a 1962 Biscayne station wagon color coded to match the car as are the 14x5.5 front wheels. New 1967 dog dish hubcaps are included and the tires are fresh. The car runs and handles beautifully, has crisp braking characteristics, shifts perfectly, and is quick. This is a very well built, low mileage, unique Gen 1 ChevyII. The car is currently tagged and registered in Connecticut. Connecticut does not require a title for cars this old therefore this vehicle is sold with a current and valid Connecticut registration, an H-31 Bill of Sale, and/or a Q-1 Connecticut Supplemental Assignment of Ownership (if required).I am available from 9:00 A.M.- 9:00 P.M.
