Up for sale is my1962 plymouth belvedere 440 Auto Max Wedge Clone with 21,000 original miles ? Yes the odometer does show 21,000 some miles, is it accurate ? I don't know.
I don't know the cars entire history, all I can tell you about is the past two owners. I bought this from a son, it was his dads car. I don't know if the dad restored it or bought it restored, however I can tell you that this was one of those cars where it was waxed even if it didn't have a speck of dust on it. The kind of car where you slip off your shoes when you get in it so you don't get the carpet/footpedals dirty, the ones where you rope it off and stand guard at a car show so no one so much has breathes on it. Yeah, if you've been to the big car shows, you know the type of cars I'm talking it. So this is not your ordinary type of car. Anyway the dad passed away and left it to the son. The son owned it for several years, but it was a thing where it was painful to look at, just because it brought back so many memories of his dad. So it was put up for sale and I bought it.
The body and paint, well look at the pictures, you tell me, does it look nice ? Lets just say it has taken many best of paint awards. Granted eventually everything gains a rock chip or a mark here or there, so if you want to nit pick it, yeah its got some, but its a very good looking car. When you look down the side it looks like your gazing into still water. Whoever did the body and paint did a super good job, its very straight. As far as the chrome and stainless, it looks very nice. I would say the bumpers are rechromed originals ? A restored grill, headlight buckets, repolished stainless ? But I honestly don't know. Like I said before the odometer shows 21,000 miles, could it just a be a super super super nice original car ? Yeah I suppose it could be.
Did you see the engine compartment pictures ? Remember how I said this was a super nice car ? Yeah well it is. Under the hood is a very good running 440 with a great sounding cam. Its backed with a push button automatic transmission and I believe a stock rearend. It runs and drives excellent. The steering is stock, its not power but it doesn't steer hard. Brakes are also stock, they are not power but they work great.
The interior is just as nice as the rest of the car. It has a stock dash, stock guages, with the 3 guages under the dash. It doesn't have a tilt wheel, hence the aftermarket steering wheel, but it shouldn't be too hard to find a stock wheel if you wanted to switch it back. The bucket seats are very comfortable. The seats, door panels, headliner, all are matching. Doors open and close nice, windows roll up and down nice, again its just a nice car. I don't know if the heater works, wipers, or radio. Because honestly I would never consider driving it in cold weather, I'd never drive it if it looked like it was going to rain, and I'd rather listen to that great sounding 440 anyday over a radio. The trunk is nice and clean as well. Just a very nice car all the way around.
I really don't want to sell it but I'm losing storage and something has to go.
I expect to be paid in full within 48 hours after the auction ends. I will only accept cash when you pick it up or a bank wire transfer.
I deal with trucking companies daily for work, so if you need help transporting this car to you, just ask and I can get some shipping quotes for you.
