1976 Pontiac Trans Am 455 4-speed, # Matching Original, NO RESERVE
1976 Pontiac Trans Am
NO RESERVE
1976 Pontiac Trans Am 455 4-speed manual. Running number matching original car. Power windows/locks, cruise control and air conditioning, Has original paint and decals. Never wrecked. I was told that the miles are 100486 and are the correct miles.
I bought this Trans Am from the original owner about a year ago, who had it stored indoors since the early 90's when the clutch went out. I put tires, battery, spark plugs and a new gas tank on it and it fired up and runs pretty good with no strange noises. The transmission goes into all rears while not running, but while it's running it won't go into gear. I assume, as the original owner did, that the clutch needs replaced. It will not drive. The ignition key won't come out of the switch, but it does come with a new key and ignition lock. The rust is mainly on the outside metal. it does have some rust on the front floor. The frame rails look good. The underside of the car doesn't look bad, rust wise. Look at the pictures. I tried to get all the rust pictured. If I miss some, it would be small or I didn't see it.
The car is better than it may look. It has a straight body. The hood opens and shuts like new. Window sweeps are still good. Body panel gaps are good. doors open and shut good. The dome light still works when you open the door. The trunk light also works. The center console lid and dash have no cracks and are in nice condition. The A/C is all hooked up and the compressor turns free and looks to be in working order with a fresh charge. all glass is good. You can tell that the car has never been apart and everything under the hood looks complete and original.
Of course the car needs restored or fix it and drive it the way it is. It's running on the original carburetor that should be rebuilt. but runs and idles with it still. The oil pan gasket is leaking, I can see it leaking (not guessing). And when I roll it in and out of my garage, I can hear what sounds like bad U-joints. Brakes work. Roll and steers for loading.
Please look at all the pictures. If there is something that you want a picture of, just let me know. Also, please ask all your question before you bid. I would be happy and proud to show it to anyone who wants to look it over in person. I have a good clean Title in my name.
