1970 Pontiac Catalina
Vehicle Details
Pontiac Catalina. 1970 Convertible, I am the original owner. 455 CID 4 bbl original engine, Turbo Hydramatic 400 transmission( original), P/s, P/b, p/w, am/fm conversion to original radio, deluxe steering wheel, factory gauge package, Granada Gold exterior, parchment interior and top. The car has bench seats, the front seat was re-done in 2016 because of splits in some seams, current mileage is 49,400, engine was rebuilt by Daytona Auto Machine in Daytona Beach, Florida in 2016 at 49,000 miles, has been used very little since then, the carb has been professionally rebuilt in 2019, the front and rear bumpers were re-chromed in Nov 2016, Then it was converted to front disc brakes, the kit was supplied buy Kanter Bros, It has a new 4 tube radiator, 2016, new water pump 2023, and a new starter motor was installed during the rebuild, The gas tank was cleaned and re-conditioned. This is my first brand new car, I drove used vehicles before this, I ordered it at Rudd Pontiac in Schenectady, NY in Sept of 1969 and it came in on October 12, 1969. I picked it up and drove it home and put it in the garage. I used it sparingly, I did have a second vehicle for daily use. In 1972 I ordered a new Corvette and my Father & Mother bought the Pontiac from me because my Mom had surgery and could not handle roll up or down windows. Mt car has power windows. They used it as a daily driver, My Mom drove it to work at GE. In 1975 my father gave it back to me and I promptly had the car re-done, it had some parking lot damage and some rust in the lower 1/4 panels, I had the convertible top replaced. The car still has it's original body panels. It does run great. I am reducing my auto collection because of my age and we have moved to a smaller home so I do not have the vehicle storage that I used to have. Right I am paying for storage. This is a one family owner car that I bought new. It has never been abused and the only time that it was a daily driver is when my mother used it for 3 years to drive to work. It has always been garaged or under a carport. The top is still in very good condition as is the back window, all of the window glass is original, It has never been in an accident or collision. I hate to sell it but as I said, we are downsizing and I don't like paying for storage and not using the car much at all. I have only put appx. 400 miles on the car since the engine rebuild. Actually I have not used it much in the last 15-20 years, just enough to keep this lubricated. During mine and my parents ownership, the oil was changed every 1,000 mile along with the filter. We We had the engine rebuilt because it sat for some extended periods and the valve seals went bad. I had hardened vale seats done during the rebuild. The white wall tires are radials, 78 series, These were installed appx. 30 years ago, when the car was photographed for Car Collector magazine by photographer Dan Lyons. It had to appear original. The tires look good with plenty of tread but they are at least 30 years old. The car can be test driven but should not be driven any distance or at high speeds because of the tires. I want to sell it to a good home. Buyer must pay for the vehicle before pick up or bring a certified check drawn on Wells Fargo Bank. We will go to the local Wells Fargo Bank to verify and cash the check before signing over any title or registration. A $500.00 deposit through EBAY is required. Good luck! Deposit is non-refundable. In 2010 we moved to Florida, I had the car shipped and put in a storage facility, I used it occasionally.
