1968 DODGE CORONET R/T tribute MUSCLE CAR MOPAR 440 engine 4 Barrel SUREGRIP RT
1968 Dodge Coronet
Hello everyon, I am getting out of the classic car Hobby and getting into tournament fishing Hobby ! I just do not have the space or time to keep up on my classic cars so its time for them to go to a new home and someone that can keep up on them and enjoy them rather then just sitting around my place . Just to be clear NOTHING I own is perfect or even close to i, but it is respectable and in good shape for the age ! All of my sales are AS-I, where is and no refunds of any kind . We all know Murphy's law and with old cars, truck, tractors and anything old that I sell anything can break or go wrong at anytime . I list my stuff accordingly and am always open to any questions or requested additional pictures or videos via cell phone . thanks and good luck!
Here I have a 1968 Dodge Coronet R/T clone, tribut, recreatio, copy or whatever you want to call it . - The paperwork and vin on the car are the original it started life wit, a junk rusted out true 1968 Coronet R/T donated all the R/T goodies to the standard coronet 440 body to make it what it is . The body paint and R/T goodies where added over 20 years ago and in my opinion the car has held up great ! a few unnoticeable blisters on the very lowers of the car but you have to look hard to find them !
Details !
****built speed shop 440 cubic inch engine with 10:1 compressio, mild ca, large valve head, forged pistons, aluminum intak, new 4 barrel edelbrock car, headers etc . It has a mild rough idle and sounds grea, doesn't overhea, doesn't use any oi, and maintains good oil pressure at all temperatures. very very strong runner . my estimation is at least 400hp . If you hammer the gas and have the steering wheel turned in any direction even a bit you will be in trouble .
****built up 727 automatic with what i guess is called a manual valve body ( got to put it in 1st and then shift to 2nd and 3rd manually ) - i never liked this and just found it really annoying so i bought a good low mileage 727 original transmission from the salvage yard that i was going to install - this original 727 will come with the car and a original torque converter . i will place them in the trunk .
*** 8-3/4 sure grip with i think 4:10 ratio.
*** nice sounding dual exhaust with semi quiet mufflers
*** solid southern body with good rails, floors, roof, cowl, doors, fenders, etc . quarters where replace, trunk floor extensions are original down to the quarter, and 75% of the trunk floor is original with the center(spare tire ) section being replaced with new metal .. any metal the car needed replaced was cut ou, and new fabricated metal was full MIG welded back in ! I see guys tack weld steel and it doesnt last . I think thats why after 20+ years the ar has held up so well and looks so nice is because the welding was done properly and full welded .
****steering braking and suspesion is tight . tires are good shape as well .
*** electric and lights in working order
**interior has buckets (drivers lower seam split and has black take over seam , nice center consol, nice door panels and good headliner . seat belts work but color could be black instead of red . oh well - just something that i didnt like was seat belt color .
overall the car gets thumbs up everywhere and is fun to drive . I havent drove it in months but i did fire it up yeterday and it sounded as good as ever . if you want a cool / fast classic car that looks great and can be driven with pride but taken to the next level this is affordable in the mopar world . reasonable offers will be considered .
I can help load the car onto a transporter or our trailer . Cash is the way i bought the car and prefer to be paid but i understand its a national sale and cash is not always possible . certified bank check or wire transfe, is fine as well . id like to be paid in full within 1 week of purchase - 7 days . I know I see some ebay sellers wanting to be paid in 3 days and that's unreasonable - 7 days is reasonable for me . I can store the car on my property for up to 1 month . good luck and please ask any questions . I will mail the title (in NY state pre 1973 its a transferable registration) and bill of sale out to you once payment is cleared . thanks
