1932 Ford B

Rare opportunity to own an iconic Henry steel bodied and framed 1932 Roaster that has some unique features. I have owned this car since 2016 and wish I knew the complete history of the car but this is the story it tells me: A fighter pilot returning from WWII saved his money and in 1960 bought this car and boxed and beefed up the original frame, welded in a 1931 Cadillac dash with spun aluminum panels, painted it himself with Navy surplus paint, installed a high performance 400ci Pontiac engine with a mild cam, custom headers and exhaust as well as a 1957 Oldsmobile rear end. He used a 4" dropped and drilled front axle with 1940 Ford split wishbones in the front and 1936 rear wishbones and 1948 Lincoln front brakes. He installed a 1956 Ford steering box Sprint Car style. He re-skinned the doors and louvered the trunk lid. He then hand-built a Duvall style windshield that is attached via the original mounting holes. The wooden tack strip was replaced with a hand formed aluminum panel to match the interior.
Since then, other clever items have been added. The 1940 Ford shifter actually connects to a modern TH350 automatic transmission. You see the clutch pedal? That is the emergency brake that has a hidden release. The headlights have the (working) turn signals inside. The license plate is an original 1932 that is registered to this car. The glove box shelf under the dash is actually a fabricated 1956 CA license plate. The glass pack mufflers have been replaced with Flowmaster that sound great. New front seat upholstery has been added recently as well as restored and powder-coated Kelsey-Haye wire wheels and Cragar knock-off center caps and Firestone tires. The carburetor has been replaced with an Edelbrock 650cfm that has an automatic choke that makes cold starts easy. It has a hidden trans cooler and horn.
This car runs great and has never overheated. This is not a show car - the paint has defects and runs but it absolutely matches vibe of the car. I have the title in my name.
