1937 Lasalle Sedan & 1940 Lasalle Convertible

I'm listing these rare classic LaSalles for my grandparents, Dick & Sue. Both cars are in their own fantastic condition and both Model 50’s with Buick body’s. They have both been worked on by my grandfather who started doing body work professionally in 1959 when he opened his own paint shop, Lakeview Autobody in Western NY.

The Sedan is in original condition except for black primer. When he was getting ready to paint it decades ago, Hans Biekert got married in Busti, NY and wanted it in his wedding. My grandfather put it in black primer to take him to his wedding, and then never finished painting it. I am sure we can all relate! It appears to have original interior and it should be able to get running and driving relatively easily.

My grandparents purchased it in 1977 after finding it via the Carlisle, PA automotive flea market and driving to to Quincy, IL to purchase it. After getting it home my grandmother pulled my grandfather around the block and bump started it. They drove to friends "The Gerrings" where they found out that Mrs. Gerring used to "go with" the Sheriff of Peoria, IL; a supposed prior owner of the car, and she had ridden it it before! My grandparents enjoyed driving it up until 2005 as indicated by the registration.

The Convertible is in partially restored condition with all body work being completed by my grandfather over the last five decades. The body, fenders, frame, rear end etc. have been refinished & painted. The suspension and transmission are good & refinished, and the car has new brakes. The motor is all original and turned over when last checked (not installed). He has all parts for the vehicle to be completed and he notes that the chrome will need to be refinished.

My grandparents purchased it in December 1970 as complete car, a non-driver near Amsterdam, NY. They trailered it home on Don Gage's trailer(check out this link, he used to have a building just for his corvettes!).https://www.findagrave.com/memorial/10491255/donald-a.-gage

My grandparents are selling due to old age, and my grandfather is not going to finish them. They would love to see the cars stay local. They can be purchased as a pair or for $10,000 each.
