1935 Ford Custom Woody Wagon• Same California owner for the past 20 years!• Original Woody Wagon found in the Australian Outback• A hot rod shop in Australia completely restored this Ford using some parts from a 1960s Holden• Complete mechanical restoration and update to U.S. specifications in December 2020• Right-hand drive vehicle• Blue and woody exterior with gray cloth and vinyl interior• Wood portion of the body hewn from Tasmanian Oak and custom taillights• Strong Aussie Cleveland 351 CID V-8 engine breathing via SS dual exhaust• C4 three-speed automatic transmission and eight-inch rear end• Power brakes with discs in front, rack-and-pinion steering and power windows• Factory wire wheelsFrom the nation that gave us utility vehicles, or utes, Australia provided the core of this handsome Ford Woody Wagon. The wagon was found years ago in the Australian Outback. A hot rod shop found the wagon and took it upon themselves to give it a new life, using parts from a variety of vehicles – Ford and Holden. The metal front half is dressed in a very nice blue that meshes well with the chrome trim – grill, headlight bezels, front bumper, center caps of the wheels, etc. The remainder of the body is hewn from Tasmanian Oak, except for the rubberized roof and custom taillights. Note that this is a two-seater wagon. There is no second-row seat, just a long cargo bay ready to swallow what you have to haul. The cargo bay is very clean and contains a full-sized spare tire with cover. The overall effect is striking and in excellent order. Accordingly, the body is straight. The engine bay is extremely tidy, the chrome bumpers fit well to the body and look great. This wagon rolls on BFGoodrich Radial T/A tires, size 205/60R15 in front and size 245/60R15 in back. Each one is mounted on a factory strengthened wire wheel with a chrome center cap. The wheels are in very good order while the tires are in good, original order.Under that vee’d hood is a Aussie Ford Cleveland 351 V-8 engine with many chromed accessories and breathes through SS dual exhaust. The motor is married to a C4 three-speed automatic transmission with an eight-inch rear end. Driver convenience features include power brakes with discs in front, rack-and-pinion steering and power windows. A complete mechanical restoration and update to U.S. specifications was done in December 2020.Inside, the front bucket seats have cloth seating surfaces with vinyl sides, all done in gray. The seats look great, the matching headliner echoes that condition and a Ford Australia three-spoke steering wheel sets off the pair of circular gauges but the fuel gauge fluctuates. The inner door panels and right-hand drive instrument panel are all in good, original order. A column-mounted shifter and a Kenwood AM/FM stereo with cassette deck complete the interior. This has been a very unique vehicle in the National Woodie Club of America for the past 20 years. The 1935 Ford was a thorough refresh on the popular V-8-powered Ford. The four-cylinder Model A engine was no longer offered, leaving just the 221 CID V-8 to power every Ford car and truck. The transverse leaf spring suspension remained, but the front spring was relocated ahead of the axle to allow more interior volume. The body was lowered and new “Center-Poise†seating improved comfort.Visually, the 1935 Ford was much more modern with the grille pushed forward and made more prominent by de-emphasized and more-integrated fenders, reflecting modern Art Deco influences. A major advance was a true integrated trunk on “Trunkback†sedans, though the traditional “flatback†was also offered. Outdated body styles like the Victoria were also deleted for the year. The wooden panels were manufactured at the Ford Iron Mountain Plant in the Michigan Upper Peninsula from Ford owned lumber. Two trim lines were offered, standard and DeLuxe, across a number of body styles including a base roadster, five-window coupe, three-window coupe, Tudor and Fordor sedans in flatback or trunkback versions, a convertible sedan, a woody station wagon and new Model 51 truck. An oil pressure gauge and two windshield wipers were optional. If one got the optional radio, it replaced the ash tray.If you’re a Ford fan who’s always wanted a unique Woody Ford for your collection; if you’re a small business owner who could use a ride like this as a rolling billboard for your company, you should check it out; or if you just like a fun car to drive, come by MotoeXotica Classic Cars and take a close-up look at this Ford Wood from Down Under!VIN: GJB002
