DO NOT KEEP READING if you are NOT looking for a TRUE CLASSIC collector car w/ NO RESERVE cuz THIS IS one! But IF you ARE looking for a TRUE "cruiser".....a collector car that you can TRULY go ANYWHERE in and not worry about constant breakdowns, r weird noises or smells......AND do it getting GREAT gas mileage while turning heads with a quick, are car that SOUNDS like a true muscle car from the era.....well, ook no further. Have a car that people recognize, ut don't know what it is....yet RAVE about its good looks and RARE vintage original condition. This is a NUMBERS MATCHING, riginal drive train in 99.9% flawless shape, OMPLETE and all original (or OEM) componentry except as noted below. Collectors and Investors take notice here.....Now, LL of our friends and buddies (MANY mechanics) ALL comment on how LAZER straight and true this body is when they check it out. They've crawled over, nder, round and thru this car to critique it. Here's what they found. Paint like new and flawless. BLINDING shine. Like-new condition. LOW miles. Like-new tires. Like-new interior and rug. ALL components work as they should. WAY way WAY below current value. Amazing!!!
This car was bought brand new (MUCH like it's current condition) by a young unmarried pair of "flower children" who kept it garaged whenever it was not in use. They loved and kept the car in MINT shape for the first years of its life. It got sold in 1998 (w/ 88,000 miles on it) to an elderly man who continued to LOVE it. (That was LESS THAN 3,000 a year since new!) HE then kept the car for the next FIFTEEN years, amp; only put 3,000 miles on it, OTAL!!! AGAIN, t was always garaged when not in use. He took it out for short weekend "ice cream drives" w/ the grandkids & just pampered it while also keeping it in perfect shape. The car has the ORIGINAL Dealerhand written bill of sale(carboncopy) with ALL THE OPTIONS (& pricing) written on it from the Rambler dealer when new. The ONLY change was before it left the Dealership; they had Dealer installed Mag wheels put on it to get with the look they wanted. It has the ORIGINAL inventory key tag from the day it was new where the Dealer used to hang it in the "key box". It has the ORIGINAL exacto plate plastic warranty card along w/ the ORIGINAL books and manuals. It also has almost ALL registration cards for all years since new. If I'm not making my point, his car is in ORIGINAL condition WITH true proper documentation. Talk about RARE!!!
On to the serial number: it's A9C797M222077. The first "A" denotes American Motors, r AMC. The "9" is the model year, r 69. The "C" shows it was a floor shift. The first "7" is for Javelin. The next "9" is for 2 door HT coupe. The next "7" is for either the SST or AMX, n this case....the SST. The "M" shows the 290 engine choice. The final numbers are the "run" numbers for the years production.
This SST has the small stock V-8 AMC 290 cu in engine with a 2 Barrel carb. Runs like a Swiss watch. Chrome engine dress up package includes 10" chrome air cleaner, hrome valve covers, hrome coil & more. The floor mounted automatic 3 speed transmission shifts CRISPLY & cleanly with NO hesitation or wear evident. Posi rear end is a low ratio for great gas mileage & highway cruising....with a throaty RUMBLE to complete the package.
Condition. We have crawled ALL OVER THIS CAR too and there is NO RUST & NO ROT on the Bittersweet Orange (Gold) paint & seems 90% (or more) original. It shines like BRAND NEW with NO imperfections, lemishes or dings. We changed the exhaust from mufflers back due to corrosion ON the exhaust and replicated the replacements as new. The interior is factory original buckets & the covers are as new, s is the rug. ALL lights work as they should and all gauges & mechanicals also work perfectly. The car TRACKS perfectly with no pulling or unwanted noises even at speeds well over the posted speed limits. It goes down the highway straight as an arrow with NO issues. Tires are period-correct white letter and of course......ALL drive train components are original and numbers matching. Everyone prints this in their ads but in THIS case it IS TRUE........it rides and performs as if it were 1969 again. You could get in this car tomorrow and drive ANYWHERE you wanted with confidence, t's THAT nice a car. There are no repairs needed to this quality automobile that Haggerty Insurance calls "one of the TEN cars destined to becomeextremelyrare collectors items". They call the car's value in THIS UNMOLESTED condition for between $32-$35,000.00
Now, n to the obvious questions. Yes, suppose wewould consider trades BUT.......we're in the Northeastern most town in CT. HOW it would HAVE to work is FIRST, OU would HAVE TO come look at our car. If you aren't interested in IT.....there's no need to ask about a trade, ight??? Then, OU would HAVE to bring your "trade" to us to see. If that's not possible either, hen how could we deal? We do this for fun but also to recoup our time and $$$ laid out so we're NOT going to toil over a car & detail it like we did on this one, o trade even for a car that you have that may need a ton of work, amp; then will only be worth what this one is.....once yours is done.
On to my credibility. Read my feedback and bio. I DO honestly convey what I sell. I DO stand behind what I sell. I sold a 69 Boss 302 Mustang a couple years ago to a nice man in North Dakota who had issues that I didn't know about so I sent him back a monetary settlement to make things right. He gave me 100% feedback. I JUST sold a 550S Mercedes. Again, n option that was told to me to have been on the car was not, o he too got a kick back and he too just left me 100% feedback. These were just 2 of COUNTLESS others who have had ZERO issues, ut rest comfortably knowing that IF you have ANY issue (that has not been disclosed) I WILL work with you to (fairly) make things right. Bid with confidence KNOWING that my 100% rating will protect you.
Lastly, hat will I take for it NOW?. Honestly, his car is SO fantastic, 'd like to get WAY above my NO RESERVE min bid, ut I have it priced at my investment w/ virtually NO MONEY for my time. When we got this car we KNEW it was a RARE find, ut I have 4 other cars & a garage that holds only 4 (total) so one of the 5 has to go & THIS baby is DONE & ready to make some family man (& his wife and kids) VERY happy. A Motor head car that runs smooth with no headaches & needs NOTHING. Everything works as it should for this comfortable, intage, ollector car that WILL MAKE YOU $$$! IF you are that serious & don't want to lose it, ake your offer & if it's acceptable, 'll end the auction & sell you the car, r..... just chance the bidding. Also know that you can fly into Worcester MA airport which is less than a half hour from my home OR into Providence RI which is about 45 minutes away & I'll pick you up before you buy if you need the peace of mind. No worries & no issues.
