1928 Ford Model “A” Roadster Built By: Norm Francis, of Norm Francis Street Rods Awards: Goodguys Spring Rod and Custom Nationals. First Place “1927-1931” Open Class, Road Kings Car Show, Special topless town display, NSRA Western Nationals. Awesome A Pick. Featured in: Rod Action Magazine, Rod and Custom Magazine. Chassis: Custom TCI reproduction frame, 103 in length, front axle is a super bell I-Beam, TCI reversed eye spring with Teflon treatment between the leaves. Shocks and four-Bar are from the Deuce Factory. Spindles, rotors and hubs are all super bell with VW-Type III Calipers. The rear end is a corvette with JFZ calipers, Alden aluminum coil over shocks, and a quick change cover on the housing. Twin aluminum saddle tanks are used to hold 20gals of fuel. Running boards are made from stainless steel and louvered. (Note: The underside of the car has 460 Louvers) ENGINE: 302-375HP cubic inch small block, Edelbrock performer RPM aluminum cylinder heads and intake manifold. Demon 750 four-barrel carburetor, Mallory distributor and coil Jacobs wiring, competition cams camshaft and valve train, Pete Jackson noisy gear drive, Cobra air cleaner, value covers and oil pan. John Harveston headers and exhaust system (All Chrome), Edelbrock Aluminum water pump, Walker radiator cooling both engine and transmission. March pully setup. DRIVE TRAIN: Ford C4 transmission with shaft kit, TCI deep sump aluminum trans pan, rear end is a 1987 Corvette with 3.50:1 Ratio, Polished aluminum drive shaft and half shafts. Mustang II steering. WHEELS: Boyds Custom Vintage Series, 15x4.5 front, 15x7 rear, Michelin tires. BODY: 1928 Ford Roadster Poli-Form fiberglass, Cowl section filled and door hinges reversed, curved windshield glass. Color is Ferrari Red Enamel sprayed over the body, Frame and entire drive train. Yellow and brown accent pin-stripping by Taylor Design, Lighting is Deitz. INTERIOR: Interior stitched in light tan vinyl over bench seating, carpet is a matching cut pile. Stewart-Warner Stage III gauges, steering column is a tilt-VIA Pontiac with a Le Carra Steering wheel, Throttle and brake pedal are both Deuse factory items.
