1959 Other Makes Roadster

Are you looking for a hot rod, not a ratrod, that's different from the thousands of Flathead powered rattle-boxes out there? Here is an all-steel 1931 Chevy on an altered 47 Ford frame with a 49 Oldsmobile V8 mated to a 39 Zephyr gearbox. This car was custom built by a machinist and his elder engineer brother almost 60 years ago and will come with their meticulous built book that details all parts and modifications. No parts newer than 1950 from Ford, Chevrolet, Buick, Plymouth, Oldsmobile, Dodge, and Crosley were used or altered to complete this car.
Changes that were made in the last 10 years by the original builder (who's now almost 80 years old) includes a Posies slider front spring, rear coil-over springs in replacement of the buggy spring in the rear, and set of new cooker radial tires. These modifications updated the handling characteristics and comfort. He overhauled the brakes and replaced the lines, wheel cylinders, and brake shoes as well as rebuilt the master cylinder. The top was professionally replaced last year with premium canvas and new plastic windows. We replaced the oil pan, which was impossible to find, as the original had a sizable dent.
This car is almost 60 years old but has only traveled 15,300 miles. It has some minor paint chips and scratches but is in overall excellent condition. There are many trick custom touches on this hotrod including a machined intake manifold and carburetor that had the venturis re-tapered to get the motor under the hood, a hidden spare tire, built-in heater and radio, removable roll bar and top, and custom shift linkage to name a few. This thing is a hit at every car show we have taken it.
This car rides amazing with not a single rattle over our crappy Pennsylvania roads. It has plenty of power, stops straight on a dime, and handles like a period European sports car like a MG, Triumph, Jaguar, Austin Healey, etc. It will not overheat on the hottest of days, but you might. It's quiet enough to have a conversation while driving and smooth enough to make you think it stalled at a stoplight. Long cruises are comfortable and mpg's are in the mid 20's. This car does not leak fluids.
I have many pictures and a complete description of the car. Please ask if you have a question. Thanks for viewing my ad and happy bidding.
