Offered for an appreciating new owner is this rare classic 1988 MERKUR XR4Ti HATCHBACK!
Finished in silver over grey, this very rare German-built Merkur shows just over 80,000 miles on its working odometer. It sports the 2.3 liter turbocharged inline four cylinder engine mated to a factory automatic transmission, factory crank sunroof with glass panel, electric windows, am/fm cassette stereo and mesh alloy wheels with Michelin tires. It is being sold with clean and clear California title and Carfax report showing no accidents. I can ONLY sell this rare vehicle to a NON-California resident!

THE BODY AND TRIM
The exterior of this car is in good, dry and clean 99.9% rust-free California condition throughout. Is it a perfect concourse condition show car? NO. It has a considerable amount of paint fading specifically on the top surfaces, along with nicks, scrapes and other cosmetic wear areas. I would call it a presentable driver-quality ten-footer.

THE INTERIOR
As I hope is articulated in the photos here, the interior of this non-smoker car is in good to very quite original condition with working radio and electric windows, lights and blinkers and dash gauges. The driver seat side panel is worn and torn slightly, the headliner is sagging a bit, the a/c and heat are inop.

THE DRIVING EXPERIENCE
This 1988 Mekur starts right up a runs decent but far from new. The valves are a bit noisy and I am told it needs a head gasket. It goes down the road well with definite turbo spooling and power. The brakes are good and the suspension is decent. I am not an expert on these particular cars hence the not-so-detailed analysis.
