The trunk is neatly finished and remarkably spacious under that fastback roofline, o it's ready to cruise.The reason why the engine bay looks ready for the car show is not only because all the belts, ires, nd hoses look new, ut also the whole Oldsmobile 324 cubic inch OHV V8 benefits from a full rebuild in 2010. There were vintage speed parts added to the restoration that included the Rochester J2 factory tri-power setup that boldly sits on top of this V8. These look especially good with the finned classic Offenhauser valve covers. The electrical system is upgraded to 12 volts with an alternator, ut the rest remains the way GM built it in 1950. All of this is backed by a rodder's favorite HydraMatic automatic transmission that was rebuilt in 2012. With 3.36 gears out back, t's happy to cruise at 65 MPH without working very hard, nd it always feels punchy around town with a great hit of low-end torque.
