1950 Oldsmobile Series 76

Hi and Thanks for Looking.

I have for sale a 1950 Oldsmobile 76 Club Sedan. It currently has 64,500 (believed to be actual) miles. a 257 cubic inch L-Head 6-cylinder engine and a 4-speed Hydramatic Transmission.

1950 was the final year for the 76 series and only 5105 of the Club Sedans were produced. I purchased this vehicle from an estate sale in Western Kansas. The previous owner bought it in 1997 from a gentleman in Cresco Iowa and kept it stored indoors the entire time. I'm not sure how long the man from Iowa owned the car, but I did find insurance cards in the glove box dating back to 1984 in his name.

The paint is not perfect, but shines up nicely. I was told it has had one repaint prior to 1997. I have been all over the body of this car with a magnet and can find no evidence of body filler anywhere. There is however a small amount of rust on the inner rockers which I have shown in the pictures and in the videos posted. That is literally the only rust I can find in the car. The floor pans and the trunk pan are solid.

I've installed a new carpet kit, new underlayment and new door sill plates. While I had the old rubber mats and seats out, I went ahead and sealed the floor and trunk pan. I do have photos of the floor and trunk pans prior to sealing them. Please message me if you would like to see them. eBay will only allow 30 pictures so I had to choose wisely.

The window glass is also original to the car. All 4 windows roll up and down just fine and all of the glass is good with the exception of the drivers side wing window which has a crack in it.

The engine runs very smooth. I purchased the usual tune-up items, (plugs, wires, cap, rotor, points, condenser) but once I got it home, it all looked brand new, and didn't need any of it. It looked as though it was completely gone through and just parked. I drained the fuel tank, installed a new filter and had it running shortly thereafter. I did install a new fuel pump as the original one was leaking out of the weep hole.

The Transmission fluid was full and looked like it had just been changed as well as the antifreeze. The brakes on the car are excellent. Probably the best brakes I have ever had on a car of this age. I visually inspected them and it appears the previous owner installed new shoes, wheel cylinders, all 3 rubber lines, and the steel crossover line in the front has been replaced as well.

The tires are original style bias plys and do look good. I'm sure the previous owner put them on new. I don't see any signs of dry rotting, but I know they have been on the car a long time and will probably need to be changed before driving it too far.

The Interior is original to the car. It’s still in very good condition with the exception of one tear on the back of the driver’s seat which is pictured. I put the blanket over the seat to try and protect it. The door panels and headliner are original as well and also in good shape.

The chrome bumpers are showing their age, but they are all still in fair condition. Same story with the stainless trim, it’s all there and complete, but showing what I would consider normal wear.

The car is 74 years old. It's not a “show car” by any means, but an honest mostly original survivor. Will make a nice project for someone to take it to the next level or drive and enjoy it as is.

I have the original owner’s manual and a shop manual for the car, as well as the original GM keys and 1 extra complete set.

The car is currently tagged and insured and I have a clean and clear Kansas Title in my name.

I am willing and available to work with your shipper if necessary and welcome anyone to come and see/inspect the car in person.

I have posted links below to the YouTube videos of the car, the undercarriage, and driving it around town. Contact me with any other questions, or to set up a time to view the car in person.
