1984 Oldsmobile Cutlass Hurst Edition

I have decided to sell my 1984 Oldsmobile Hurst/Olds. It is #3347 of 3,500 built for the model year and is finished in silver and black with tomato red accents over maple upholstery and is a true, unmolested survivor which was with the original owner until the vehicle was sold in 2011. The car was purchased new on March 30, 1984 from W.P. Clarke Oldsmobile, Inc. in Wallingford CT. The original owner’s family sold the car on March 30, 2011 to an individual in New York. Then on November 11, 2021, the vehicle was sold at auction and purchased by a franchised GM dealer in Ohio. I am the current owner, and I purchased the car as something to work on in my spare time. VIN # is 1G3AK4798EM462347.

This s a turn key car which will give you enjoyment for years to come. The car still wears its original paint and was undercoated when new. The car has a few minor chips and small dings as expected, but you really need to search for them. Power is supplied by a 307ci V8 mated to a four-speed automatic transmission actuated by a Hurst Lightning Rod triple shifter that was professionally rebuilt.
Additional equipment includes a rebuilt carburetor with new parts to run better on modern gasoline, a new dual exhaust system by Pypes, including a new catalytic converter, a factory rear spoiler, restored 15″ factory chrome wheels mated to modern period correct Goodyear Eagle GT radial tires, front disc brakes, as well as air conditioning, a correct Delco stereo with Amber color readout, a rebuilt and functioning power antenna and power windows. The car has spent its life in Connecticut and New York and was purchased by a dealer in Ohio in 2021. I acquired it on April 20, 2022.

New spark plugs, spark plug wires, distributor cap and rotor were also changed. The front brake disc rotors pads, inner and outer wheel bearings and dust caps were replaced. The transmission was serviced with new filters, pan gasket, speedometer cable o-ring seal and new transmission fluid. Both universal joints were replaced and the rear end received new fluid, the proper posi-traction additive used and cover gasket. All four headlights were replaced and NOS headlight bezels were installed on the car. The rear taillights and backup lights were professionally restored. The windshield and cowl trim was also refinished along with NOS wiper arms and new period correct wiper blades. This Hurst/Olds shows 54k miles and is now offered with manufacturer’s literature, two sets of keys, the original window sticker and several spare parts including the original carburetor, the original catalytic converter, a correct 1984 front bumper cover, refurbishment records, a clean Carfax report, and a clean Pennsylvania title.
The car is finished in silver with textured black coating on the lower panels and tomato red stripe decals. A power-bulge hood, rear spoiler, and dual-outlet exhaust system were standard equipment along with Hurst/Olds decals on the doors and trunk lid. The center console surrounds the Hurst Lightning Rod triple shifters, which allow the driver to individually select up-shifts to second and third gears. Also included in the sale is a original and correct front bumper cover that could be swapped out onto the car due to the original owner “rubbing” both front corners on his garage according to his daughter.
