1961 Oldsmobile Eighty-Eight Dynamic Fiesta Wagon for Sale in Hamilton, ON L8N 2Z7

Offering for sale a rare and desirable Oldsmobile station wagon. We purchased it from Arizona in February 2013: the body was great but everything else was well worn. The car was extensively restored with a 6-figure resto-mod approach by replacing the worn factory engine with a 6 liter LQ9 out of a Denali that is mated to a 4L65E automatic transmission with a Lokar floor shift. All suspension components are fully rebuilt, it has power steering; we added power 4-wheel disc brakes, aluminum radiator, a custom-built exhaust system with Flowmaster 50 series mufflers and much more. The paint and body work as well as the necessary fabrication for the engine fitment was professionally completed. The car was originally all white, we have repainted it white with a silver roof and it has had a total interior restoration too. The tri-colour factory interior is not available as a complete 'wagon kit' so it was professionally recreated: logos that were heat stamped in 1961 are now stitched into the seats and door panels. Minor custom changes to the interior include: the 'white' inserts in the seats were changed to silver to compliment the exterior roof color, the front bench seat was notched to accent the floor shifter. Also, the original painted headliner board panels were covered in perforated & padded satin finish vinyl to mimic the original look but to upscale it to a more luxurious look to compliment this gorgeous interior. Under the carpeting and headliner, the car was completely covered with Dynamat sound deadening material for a much quieter and cooler ride. The passenger back seat and the rear facing third row seat can both fold down to create a completely flat floor big enough for a 4x8 sheet of plywood!

There were only 15,300 1961 Olds wagons produced with a scant 4000 of those being the Dynamic 88 Fiesta 3-seat models: note the 'steps' on the inside corners of the rear bumper, included on 3 seat wagons. Considering the survivor rate of Station wagons there are likely less than a few dozen surviving in restorable condition: we only know of one other 61 wagon 'on the road'. There were no corners cut or expenses spared, the car was restored to exacting standards for an anticipated further 50+ years of enjoyment. The car currently resides in Ontario Canada and although its restoration was completed in 2015 it has also has recently been retrofitted with Vintage Air Conditioning. It is an amazing car to drive and with the LQ9 it has plenty of power for all purposes and it is an especially fabulous highway car for long distance drives; proven by its longest continuous trip of 1500 mile drive it from Florida to our Canadian home. It has just returned from a fabulous road trip: over the course of a 12 days the car drove the 2300 miles flawlessly, averaging 15.6 mpg. First, we headed to the 2022 Atlantic Nationals in Moncton New Brunswick where it won a Cruiser of the Day Award on Thursday then on Sunday, we were humbled to receive one of the Top 15 Classics Car Awards out of a field of 2500 cars. The following weekend we headed for Syracuse, New York to attend the Syracuse Nationals: out a field of 8,000 cars it was chosen for the “Haulin Wagon Award” for an exceptional Station Wagon. It has yet to been shown at the Lansing Homecoming or at the Oldsmobile Club of America Nationals. It is currently resides in Ontario, Canada but it has a Florida title, we could bring across the US/CDN border to be shipped from New York state if more convenient for our buyer.
