1967 Oldsmobile 442 442
1967 Oldsmobile 442Hello everyone and thanks for taking the time to view my listing. What you're viewing is a real 1967 factory 442 4 speed as denoted on the trim tag (I'll talk more about this later). This 1967 has been in the south all of its life. It is in great driver condition and drives like a dream. This real factory 4 speed 442 is the perfect driver because it's nice enough to drive anywhere and look good, but since the paint has a few chips, is a little thin and faded in some areas, it can be driven without worry of damaging a perfect paint job. Bellow I will describe this awesome 442 as best as possible. Please take your time and read the upcoming description bellow and view all of the pictures before making an offer. Thank you.
Exterior
The exterior of this 442 is in phenomenal condition for it's age and was repainted in its factory single stage Ivy Gold paint in the mid 1980s. The paintstill shows nice for its age, but it is thin in some areas, other areas have some chips in the paint that have been touched up, and there isfading in some areas. The panels are not rusty however. This 442 is as solid as can be and the floors, along with all other body panels are original. The trunk has had two sections replaced alongwith the trunk bracing, but this 442 did not get a full trunk pan because itwasn't needed. The doors, fenders, roof, quarters, etc are all original to this car. The passengers side front fender extension was repaired at some point in its life and there was some paint missing on the passengers side fender, but this was touched up. You can see it in the up closepics that I took. There is also a 2"x1" spot on the drivers side door that I touched up as well along with some small scrapes at the bottom of the drivers side quarter panel. It really is great for its age though and it looks very good in person.
Interior
The interior of this 67 442 is mostly original besides the carpet, headliner, and floor mats. The factory seat covers are original in the front and the rear, but there is a small 2"x2" spot on the drivers side that was repaired by a vinyl repair shop. The interior really looks excellent for it's age and is sure to make the next owner proud. The original Hurst 442 shifter's chrome shines beautifully and shifts great andthe original numbers on the shifter ball have been touched up in white. The dash is beautiful and without any cracks, but the glovebox has one small crack in the topright of it that can be seen in the pics. The Rocket Rally Pack gauges look andperform great. Some refer to this option as the tictoc tach because the tach swoops around the clock in theright side instrument cluster. There is aremote oil pressuregauge that readsperfectly, but it reads off the sending unit that was supposed to be connected to the factory gauges, so the factory oil pressure gaugedoesn't work, buttheaftermarket one does. The mileage shows just under 29,700 and is believed to becorrect and considering how nice this car is, I certainly believe it. The only other thing that I can think of is that sometime early in its life, the lighter was stuck in the dash for too long and it warped the dash surround just a little. Itdoesn't look badthough.
Drivetrain
Thedrivetrain in this 442 is in excellent condition and has been serviced from head to toe in the past few months. This motor was rebuilt by a Nascar engine builder a few years ago, right after I bought the car. I've maybe put 2000 miles on the car since it was rebuilt. It had a 5 angle valve job, flat topped pistons, rocker arms and the rest of the valve train was replaced. The carb was also rebuilt at the time. The carbisn't the original, and the intake is anEdelbrock, but the heads and block are original. The original 67 "VQ" stamping is obvious and on the drivers side head just as its supposed to be. An awesome and rare vintageHamburger oversized oil pan makes sure that the engine stays well lubricated as well. It holds about a quart more of oil than a factory oil pan.

Top and Other Details
Bellow, you can see a few close up pictures of just how nice this 442 is inside and out. The dash is practically perfect with no cracks and only one crack in the glove box lid. There are no signs of rust in the door jambs and only a few tiny bubbles under the original vinyl top.
Underneath
Underneath you'll find that the is as dry as can be and all of the seals are fresh. The reverse lock out is still intact and works just as it should. Very early in this 442's life, the trans had a bad synchro in second gear. Instead of keeping and rebuilding theoriginal transmission, theoriginal owner replaced it with a beefier two drain plug 660 casing M-20 4 speed transmission. Therearend is the original and is an SJ coded 3.55 ratio anti-spin 10 bolt built late in 1966 which lines up perfectly with the build of the car, just as it should be under a real 442. This was a special ordered rearend because the 442 package came standard with a 3.90 ratio without disc brakes. Now, notice how beautiful the original floors are. These have never been replaced and look phenomenal. The frame is excellent and without damage with no signs of any previous accidents. The frame is also date coded and matches this 442. The dual exhaust sounds great and the headers add a nice rumble to the soundtrack.
Pics of the Engine During the Rebuild
Bellowyou'll see a few pics that I was sent when the engine was being rebuilt. The original VQ head stamping is very obvious and plain to see. Notice the pistons say STD on them representing that thisengine is still standard bore and this attests to this cars low mileage. Lastly you'll see the USA made extra long oil pumpthat is needed for the larger capacity oil pan.
Now that you've looked through all of the pictures, I hope that you're able to understandjust how nice this mostly original 442 is. It will serve the next owner well and I hope it makes them as happy as it's made me over the years. I've bought a red 442 bench seat 4 speed that is very much a project. That is the only reason that thisincredible 442 is for sale. I would like a $500 deposit within 48 hours of the auctions close andfull payment within a week. Thebuyer is to pay for shipping, but I'll do whatever I can to make that as easy and simple as possible. This 442 is kept in dry storage in my garage, so there will be no need to rush for pickup as long as it's paid for. It is titled to me personally here in north Mississippi. Of course, there is no warranty or guarantee implied and it is sold as-is, but Idon'tforesee any way that anyone interested could be disappointed. I will entertain any reasonable offer and thank you very much in advance. I look forward to hearing from you. My cell is 662-416-0900 andyou're welcome to message me through eBay. Good luck and God bless.
