1964 Oldsmobile Starfire - Very Original Car

RB Collection is very pleased to offer this outstanding, unrestored 1964 Oldsmobile Starfire Hardtop. This car comes to us via a local collector who has kept the car in remarkably original condition. It has never been restored and has had just one respray in the original Pacific Mist Poly. The paintwork is in fine condition, appearing glossy and consistent. Bodywork is straight and crisp, with factory-quality panel alignment and consistent gaps. Original exterior chrome trim and polished brightwork all present in very good order with just a few minor imperfections noted on close inspection. Rolling stock consists of original factory steel wheels with deluxe wire wheel covers and correct bias ply tires. Overall, it is a very attractive example of this rarely seen flagship Oldsmobile.

The white interior (trim code 337) is believed to be completely original, with all of the features one would expect from a top-of-the-line Starfire. This car has bucket seats, center console with floor shift, radio, and power windows among other options. The seats and door panels are in exceptionally well-preserved condition and carpets are tidy and clean. Switchgear, instruments, and chrome trim are in excellent condition, including the typically vulnerable aluminum trim on the door panels.

Mechanically, the car is outstanding with the solid feel of a great, unrestored car. The Oldsmobile 394 cubic-inch (6.5 liter) "Rocket" V8 packs 345 horsepower, and is mated to a Hydra-Matic automatic transmission. The engine presents in tidy and original order, appropriately detailed for an unrestored car. Our in-house team has thoroughly inspected and serviced the car, including the transmission. It runs and drives beautifully, with excellent road manners and muscular performance from the Rocket V8.

Compared to its competitors, the Olds Starfire was built in relatively small numbers, and it is rare to find such a well-preserved and highly original example.
