Up for auction is my Vintage 1931 Oldsmobile F-31 Sport Rumble Seat Coupe. Failing health necessitates sale. Straight to the facts. The body, chrome, and interior have an older restoration done by the prestigious White Post Restorations located in White Post, Virginia. This car was purchased new in Oregon and also has spent many years in dry Colorado. The Dark Blue and Black paint with Dark Red pin stripe, Dark Red steel spoke wheels, and Tan cloth interior (Dark Blue vinyl rumble Seat) is very good to excellent, as is the Gray painted dash. The chrome is all 100% bright show quality perfect. All glass is good. The running boards were recovered with correct rubber a few years ago and show no wear. The rumble seat step pads are new replacements. The car has four new Coker inner tubes and White wall tires with a good used tire as the rear mounted matching spare with cover.
Mechanically this car is 100% PERFECT! The engine is a newly rebuilt 257 CI in line Big Six with 105 HP. Everything in this engine was inspected and either cleaned, refurbished, rebuilt, machined, or replaced new. It has new .030 over pistons, bushings, rings, main and rod insert bearings, timing set, ignition components, valves, guides and hardened seats, after market spin on oil filter, electric fuel pump, water pump, hoses and belt, complete exhaust system, and gaskets.
The drive line including the 3 speed syncromesh transmission and differential is all original with the exception of the new clutch disc, throwout bearing, and drive shaft which has been modified to use a rear splined slip joint. The brakes are mechanical and will stop on a dime!
Don't confuse this quality built, Fisher Body Oldsmobile with a Model A Ford. It is bigger, faster, heavier, and much more solid.
