Description:

1988 Oldsmobile Ninety-Eight Touring Sedan

1988 Oldsmobile Ninety Eight Regency Touring Sedan - Nice driving car. Has some rust but still looks nice and drives well. Interior very nice. Good tires, matching unmounted spare. New front brakes. New AC Delco fuel pump and sending unit. New gas tank and straps. New front struts. New serpentine tension pulley. Runs cool, motor is still tight, starts right up no smoke or lifter noise etc. Exhaust rattles a bit. Factory radio works but tape deck does not. Sunroof works both ways. Dash computer works. Power seat works. All the power bolster, lumbar and thigh buttons seem to work. Rear air suspension and compressor still work. Coolest seats ever! Some scuffing on driver's seat, couple of small flaws on others and one small hole passenger side rear.
Driver door arm rest has typical wear but controls still work. Trunk closer works. Cornering lights work. All the interior and exterior lights seem to work. Both driving lights intact and working (last I checked both were working). One driving light is newer. Had every intention on keeping it but life changes.
CEL has been coming on, 12-44 error, have the O2 sensor that should fix it. Back driver's side door stuck in locked position, could probably unlock it with a scope and a slim jim (slim jim included!). Local lock shop didn't have diagram of rear doors because there is no outside lock on back doors. A/C is all there AFAIK but does not work. One small crease on passenger side rear wheel well where previous owner skinned the trim pulling out of garage. Didn't even get the fender, just wrinkled the trim.
Power antenna has been replaced with a rubber mast. Cruise stopped working after I bought it. There is Michigan rust, above the windshield is the most obvious (pictured). It saw some Michigan winters but appears to have been stored for many and I always stored it. If I was going to keep it I'd consider treating it with POR15.
Oldsmobile recommends intake gasket replacement every 200K miles or 30 years ;-) so that could probably stand to be done. No indication that it's going bad but there is some oil seepage around valve covers and it looks like there may be Bars Leak in the radiator. I have not had an issue. I have driven it several thousand miles without drama or failure, your mileage may vary. I highly suggest inspecting the car before purchase. Please contact me for any questions or concerns and I will respond as soon as possible. I am scheduled to be away from the evening of the 10th until the afternoon of the 12th but will make every effort to respond during that time.
I have done my level best to represent this vehicle honestly and thoroughly, and in mind numbing detail. I am a lifetime Oldsmobile fan in the birthplace of Olds, not a mechanic. No warranty exists or should be implied. The car comes as is where is. Likely I'm forgetting something. That said I want it to go to a good home where everyone will be pleased with the transaction, they are becoming quite rare and I'll miss it. Thank you for reading this no reserve auction.
