The V-8, 350 cid engine starts right up and runs extremely well. The idle is smooth and and the engine sounds great!!! There are no leaks, smoke, overheating or unusualnoises.
The automatic transmission will need to be rebuilt and or replaced as it does not engage into drive and or reverse.
Although we were unable to drive around,..... the steering, brakes and suspension all seem to be a-ok.....
-Climate controls operate, however the air conditioning will need attention
-Original factory radio is in tact but does not turn on?
-Fuel gauge does not show accurate reading (probably needs a new sending unit)
-Headlights, turn signals, stop lights, wipers and horn all worked properly when tested
-The current odometer reading is 32,645 however due to the 5 digit odometer and lack of history we cannot authenticate the actual mileage.
Cosmetically the Oldsmobile is completely original and untouched. The factory coat of paint retains a nice luster, it appears to be entirely original that has a lovely and honest appeal. The only notable rust/rot on the entire car is isolated to the deck lid only which is technically not attached to the body of the car and can be easily replaced or repaired if you have a good body man to cut out the metal. Otherwise the car is rock solid and rust free with only minor discoloration in a few spots. The undercarriage/floor pans, rocker panels, quarter panels and rest of the body are a+.There are various imperfections such as dings, dents, chips, scratches, scrapes, blistering, discoloration, hazing, fading, nicks, etc. Considering its age and originalityit is minimal. Nice and shiny chrome with only minimal imperfections.
The overall appearance of this Omega gets high marks for having a tremendous amount of character and patina.
- All four white wall tires by Goodyear have good tread remaining (not sure of the age) replacement tires are always recommended. One hubcap does not match the set
-Original black and white herringbone seat pattern/fabric is very cool and shows some wear on the drivers side.
-Very decent carpeting, headliner and door panels. The dash looks great!
Pictures speak a 1,000 words so what you see is what you get, nothing more, nothing less.
This is a true American classic that is the perfect candidate that you can restore to perfection or put in a little tlc and enjoy!
Due to the non-driving status and excessive fees due to the dmv the car will not be offered to California buyers. Out of state or country buyers only. We priority/overnight titles to out of state or country buyers titles immediately after payment is cleared.
