Description:

1973 Oldsmobile Omega

  • RARE 1973 Oldsmobile Omega GM's cousins include Chevrolet Nova, Pontiac Ventura, Buick Apollo Original California Car. -- Build your Beauty! -- Original paint and patina!

  • Engine has been removed. See bottom of ad about possible power-plants available. Generic GM Turbo 350 automatic transmission bell housing bolts to ANY Chevy motor included. PRE-SMOG vehicle with Title in hand and CURRENT California REGISTRATION. NO headaches at your favorite CA DMV.

  • Omega's body is good overall condition with very little visible rust. One spot of rust is seen near back window chrome trim. Floors are solid metal. There are various minor dents, notably the trunk lids and driver's side lower quarter panel wheel well. An older repair of the driver's side front fender shows newer paint and some body filler with cracks and chips. There is a bit of surface rust (Patina) over the body and bumpers. Bumpers will need to be straightened and resurfaced. The roomy trunk stays dry for the most part and only a bit of surface rust on it's floor. The spare and jack are not included.

  • Electrical systems look intact and headlights and blinkers work fine. The radio was removed and the plastic frame was cut. A receiver style trailer hitch was installed with wiring harness for trailer hook up.

  • Rear end has a 3.07 to 1 gear ratio. I inspected the ring and pinion gears and replaced the gear oil while replacing axle seals. Front and rear brakes were inspected. Passenger side front brake job was completed with new brake drum and shoes. I purchased shoes and 2 drums. Parts will be included with purchase.Front wheel bearings were cleaned, inspected and re-installed, packed with fresh grease. Tires are mounted to four matching original steel wheels with "Baby Moon" style hub caps.

  • Interior is tan. It's held up nicely considering it's age, little fading and wearing from use. The bench seat a quite comfortable and firm. The back seat has a small spot of wear on the passenger rear bottom and the back seat back shows sun damage and deterioration. The rear deck cover has been removed. The headliner is torn in a few places but all pieces are present. The tan carpet is slightly faded but looks clean and unraveled. The cabin smells fresh, not musty. I do not smell the sent of a smoker.

  • I am not a professional, but merely a shade tree mechanic. Overall, I think, this car is a survivor worthy of a new life back on the streets. Four door classics are not for everyone, but can be just as much fun to build and drive like their more expensive two door siblings at a fraction of the cost. They are outstanding at the ease of loading passengers in the back seats on the way to car shows and other family-style events. Be an original. Buy confidently.
