Oldsmobile only made 1,304 442 convertibles in 1971 and while it's easy to tell that this car is a factory 442 from the serial number, it's rarity is furthered by it's original, matching drive train.

This 442 was lovingly owned and driven for the last 15 years before we purchased it in this exact condition. It looks to have been repainted at some point, but the Matador red paint in good condition and shines great. The interior is very original and also in great condition. The convertible top works smoothly and looks super. The undercarriage is all original, solid and it good condition.

Mechanically, this 442 starts and runs well. The 455 CI engine makes plenty of power and the turbo transmission shifts with ease. Add to that the power steering and power brakes and this car is just easy to take down the road. Creature comforts, like the air-conditioning, power windows and power locks are nice modern conveniences while the working factory 8-track takes the driver back to a different era.

This 442 is just a great car. While it is not a trailer queen, it is a fantastic driver. It is the kind of car that begs to be driven around town and to local car shows where it will be admired by young and old alike.
