REAL 442, 1 OF ONLY 1,807 AUTO/CONVERTIBLES PRODUCED, CORRECT COLORS, SUPER NICE
1967 Oldsmobile 442
The 1967 Oldsmobile 442 convertible was everything you could want. It's big block power wrapped in premium package, nd it only gets better when it has been cared for so well as this one. This is also quite a rare piece of 60's muscle as only 1,807 442 convertibles were produced in 1967 with automatic transmission. The Oldsmobile Cutlass convertible was already a great-looking car, nd the 442 package added a touch of aggression to its straight-laced style. Just like a 1960s FBI G-man, his Olds wears its gray suit with enough distinction to be intimidating. Against the factory-correct P-2 Pewter paint, he chrome and stainless trim has an interesting effect. Indoors it blends with the rest of the body, ut once outside, he bumpers, ender flairs, nd a-pillar all pop in the sunshine. Proper tri-color 442 badges and redline tires add some nice color without distracting from the overall professional look.Open the door, nd you'll instantly remember what premium looked like in the late 60s. The black vinyl interior is pristine, hich is nice because it's tough to retain the correct intricate stitching on the door panels and the bucket seats. The dashboard is one of those great exercises in driver dominance. The big chrome panel houses everything including the heat/defrost controls, ower folding top switch, nd original style AM/FM radio with enough space to give them each their own zip code. Big, ound gauges fill the instrument panel ahead of the driver and they are in original condition with crisp markings that seem to hover over the needles spinning behind them. The final piece for the driver is the grippy three-spoke steering wheel that is both wafer-thin and sturdy as steel. One of the fours in the '442' name stands for 400 cubic-inches, ut we'll let you in on a little secret...the motor here is even larger. This Olds ragtop is powered by the d-code 425 cubic-inch V8 that was reserved for the larger Oldsmobiles. In a car like the Toronado, his engine made 10% more advertised power than what came in the standard 442. So think of this as a muscle car with some extra muscle. The added power is recognized the moment you turn the key and hear the unmistakable big block rumble out of the Flowmaster dual exhaust. But in true Olds fashion, his convertible is much more than just a big motor. This is an all-day cruiser with an automatic transmission, ower steering, nd power brakes. This cool Olds is an awarding-wining convertible that has been so well restored that you'll swear that the original owner's manual is not the only survivor. Beautiful to look at and a joy to drive, his fast convertible offers a very appealing package.
