For sale in our Detroit Showroom is this 1982 Oldsmobile Cutlass. This 80s classic has been converted into a newly completed turnkey tube chassis drag car. This Cutlass has everything that you would expect and so much more, and I know it's hard to believe but has only made 20 passes since completion. The round tube double frame rail chassis was professionally built by Skinny Kid Race Cars and was sandblasted and powder coated. The all steel body except for the fiberglass hood and trunk lids is finished in a brilliant white polyurethane paint that has an incredible shine, and matched with the tube chassis leaves the weight at only 3050 pounds and has been certified (IHRA) to 7.5 seconds. This Cutlass has a new headliner and all interior, trunk, floor, tunnel, and all aluminum has been powder coated to look like new and last for many years at the strip. There was also no expense spared with the entire drive train starting up front with a 638 cubic inch World Products Merlin 10.2 pro series block with steel billet caps and splayed bolts, 4.625 bore and 4.750 stroke "O" ringed block, copper head gaskets @ .050 thickness, "O" ringed heads with ARP head studs, Callies pro series forged crank shaft, Corillo h-beam rods with carr bolts, Bill Miller gas ported pistons, 14.7 - 1 compression ratio, Cam Motion 799 lift cam, Crane pro series roller lifters, Cloyes hex - adjust timing gears, Tie Interior 2.300 and exterior 1.900 valves, triple springs with tie retainers, 4861 bowtie pro stock heads, CV products 7/16 plus push rods, Jessel rocker arms and stands, Morosso powder coated valve covers and Morosso oil pump, Steffs 8 quart oil pan with offset, 120v oil heater in the pan, Morosso electric water pump, Morosso vacuum pump, MSD 7AL-3 distributer, 1350 Dominator carb, and the motor on the dyno showed 980 to 1000 horse power and 825 lb. ft. of torque. Behind this incredible motor is Power Glide transmission with SFI Dedenbear case and tail housing with grinder brake and Neil Chance bolt together torque converter with 5000 stall. Finishing out the drive train is a Ford 9 inch rear end with spool 4.30 pro gears, this is a rear end that was built with an impressive list of parts including HRW co. nodular iron 3.250 side bearing, Moser spool 35 spline axle, Moser 28 spline pinion support, Moser 28 spline forged pinion yoke, 488 Richmond gear, Bearings include inner and outer race bearings by NTN and Timken, tail bearings by Bower. The stopping power on this beast is provided by Strange 4 piston calipers and disc on all 4 wheels, and parachute rated at 170 mph. There has been over $70,000 invested in this turn- key race car which is no surprise considering the extensive list of parts installed.
