Great classic vehicle for the $$. I own 2 classic vehicles but am just an average guy with an average job, and I have found that I can not maintain, store,or afford both, so this one has to go. Plus we have one going to College next year. My plan was to use the car for a few summers as a driver and then get a quality paint job later on. This car was built in California and spent many years there afterwords. Quarter panels are fantastic, as are the doors andso on. All of the pinch welds on the bottom of the doors, trunk lid, etc are mint. This one was repainted several years ago and paint is so-so /non-professional at best, but is correct Saffron Yellow. In my opinion, it could have also used moreblock sanding (especially on the sides of the doors where previous door dings were not quite fixed correctly) before it was painted. PICS MAKE THE PAINT LOOK BETTER THAN IT REALLY IS!! Again, this would be an easy repaint that doesn't need a ton of sheet metal and bodywork.Drivers side lower front fender has had just a little repair work done to it but very, veryminor. There is a roughly 3" area on passenger rocker panel where the paint has been touched up. Trunk floor has been re-spattered but had NO rust repairs of any sort before that, looks like brand new. I do not have a spare tire, but the jack, handle and base are all included. Underside is rock solid with only a hint of surface rust on the surfaces, which probably happened during the several years it was stored in the Midwest. Factory bucket seats, console and floor shift. Obviously theseats will need re-covered but they are complete and all there. No cracks on the dash pad, looks good. Headliner is great. Door panels are not perfect but very presentable. Motor is originalmatching number350 4bbl thatruns fine. I have NO documentation as far as to whether it has been rebuilt or not. Transmission is turbo 350 in good working order.Rear end is a 10 bolt that seems to function fine as well, it looks like it has been removed and completely re-painted (possibly rebuilt) at some point. I do not think that it has posi-traction. Rare and hard to find side window trim is intact and in good shape, anodize coating is fading but there are no major dents or anything like that. I'm told that a mixture of water and Drain-o will strip the anodize and then they can be polished, but I am leery of messing with it, so thatis something that the next owner can try. Front and rear window trim are both excellent. Bumpers are originaland decent, the rear one has some dents, the front bumper isvery straight but chrome is notgood. All glass isin goodcondition without any cracks. Front window does have some pitting that is typical of any 47 year old vehicle, along with a few marks from the windshield wipers.Side and rear windows go up and down fine (see note below regarding vent windows). Headlights, signals, and even reverse lightsare all functioning. The buzzer for the ignition even still works! I did get caught driving in a major rainstorm recently and there were NO window leaks of any sort. New complete dual exhaust and radiator within the last month. Odometer shows 68K and I'm told it's correct and I wouldagree that it is correct, however, the title simply states "Exempt" so I can not and will not advertise it or guarantee that it is68K actual mileagecar.
Here is the most important info about what will need fixed or is not functioning: Again, please read carefully. The gas gage is not functioning, may be the sending unit, but am not sure. New-in-box sending unit is included. Vinyl top has been replaced at some point and is NOT the correct style of material, see photo. It has just a few places under it that have light bubbling, again very minor. Radio is correct a.m. but currently not working. Vent windows crank in and out, but need some "help" to get either closed or opened completely, looks like something in the mechanism needs tightened up. Exhaust manifold gasket is leaking a little on drivers side, other wise it has a brand new complete dual exhaust. There are some new suspension parts but I do not think that it has been aligned since they were installed.I'mprobably going overboard with minor stuff, but I want todescribeeverything. I've been on the receiving end of buying a car where the previous owner left out many, many details, and I do not want to do that to anyone. As stated, the body and underside is what sets this one apart from the others. Again, I can not stress enough that this kind of money doesn't buy much, so somebody is going to get a heckuva deal!!
