Description:
1967 Oldsmobile Cutlass VISTA CRUISER 3 SEAT WAGON
Have had and regularly used this Vista Cruiser in Connecticut since 1996. Reliably transported me to work and back, as well as hauled my family of 6 to various places for these 20 years. Car is NOT fully restored, though looks it. 3rd seat option car. Power Steering. Standard Brakes. Original Engine. Original speedometer broke at 67,000 after turning over once. Replacement shows ~ 15,000 on it now. (~180,000 miles on the entire car). A couple times off the road for some rebuilds and body work/paint. All suspension was taken out and all springs and bushings replaced 8 years ago. Floors had mild rust and was cut out, patched, and inside braces & surfaces epoxyed. Parts Car from Georgia allowed me to use diff. better tailgate, all doors. Car now has power tailgate window. I turned original 2-seat car into the 3 seat car you see now. Engine and Trans still run strong to enjoy,...not race! . Top end of the Engine taken apart in the last 8 years.Rebuilt Heads,New Valves, Timing Chain, Cam, Lifters, fuel pump, carb, radiator and Stainless Steel Brake lines. Still some rust in the car in the more difficult to get to places without removing body (inner rockers poor, right rear body mount behind rear wheel). Car makes a beautiful appearance and is still a pleasure to drive and go to cruises. Car absolutely needs more work, so please expect to put some more work and money into this car. Worst problems: Frame is weak & rusted in several places. I've kept after it and kept it painted for most of the last 15 years. Repaired once 15 years ago, now needs attention again after years of CT weather. Left side worse than right, directly behind front wheels. R-Rear body mount needs fixing. Left Rear is perfectly fine and repaired well. Car was painted 5 years ago, and after driving in all weather, except salt and snow, certain spots are failing again primarily around rear wheel wells. Lower fenders just starting to go again, but are perfectly presentable. Roof leaks with direct hose on front roof glass. But have not messed glass up with silicone. Car kept under canopy and I have not used in the rain much at all in the past 5 years. So, I live with the minor leak, gave the kids some character too! I have more photos, so please email me ask if you want to see more. Trans leaks, but moves out great as long as fluid is up. I have not had it out and has not needed a rebuild since I purchased car 80,000 miles ago. New Rear brakes and axle seals this past week. Recent tires. All interior gone through and redone to excellent. Front seat redone this year. 2nd & third seats are all original from Georgia parts car. Door Panels also all original. Original roof glass showing typical delamination signs. Note tears in small second rear lower seat. Split also in 2nd left lower seat. Original headliner is excellent. Only odd options are: Seat Belts all three seats, outside rear view remote mirror (from parts car too), power tailgate window, vanity mirror on passenger visor. If I had the energy/desire to keep it in the family, I would prioritize fixes as: remove-rebuild-re-seal trans. Repair frame in at least two spots right and left front. Fix right rear body mount. New bolts and frame rubbers at very back of car. Minor needs: windshield washer bottle and pump. Wipers work, but needs new switch. AM radio has never worked. OK with me! Numerous smaller parts rechromed. Rear bumper was rechromed. Front bumper replaced with good used one. Please ask questions. I have nothing to hide as I trust description makes clear. Multiple extra used parts come with car: original four doors, 2 tailgates, three roof glass sections, roof rack & box of miscellaneous parts collected over the years. Also have extra self stock wood grain (tailgate will need another piece soon) and have new burgundy vinyl if one or two of rear seats are desired to be redone with same material as front seat. Car is a real looker, I hope someone loves it and takes it to a dry climate. If you want a cool car to go to cruises, short trips, car is still used regularly and is a pleasure to drive. Ideal for a younger gearhead father with multiple kids! Willing to drive and deliver in Northeast within several hours of CT.Vehicle Details:
