1971 CUTLASS S RED-ORANGE W/PEARL INT. SWEET ORIGINAL CALIFORNIA BLUE PLATE CAR!
1971 Oldsmobile Cutlass
1971 Cutlass S with 89,400 actual miles. Runs, drives and stops beautifully! No mechanical or electrical issues. Everything works. Straight body with only very very minor imperfections and 3 or 4 dime to quarter sized rust spots. Nothing serious at all. The car was originally deep bronze rose metallic, now a professionally repainted bright red-orange, jambs fully painted. I would guess that the paint is about 6 to 8 years old. Shines great. Just a few tiny chips that can be touched up and buffed. In fact, I'll bet a full buff job would get it downright glass-smooth.The only things needed to make this car super nice would be to replace the front seat cover, headliner and carpet. The carpet is very good but has one hole and could look blacker. Foam in the seats are great! Just needs a front cover (very inexpensive, as is the carpet and headliner). $500 would get all of the materials. Seat cover and carpet, piece of cake to install. Headliner, meh, I'd hire someone who is experienced to get it right (usually $150). Headliner only has one seam split, otherwise perfect, as are the visors. So $650 and you have a new interior (parts and labor combined). The other thing the car needs to be super-nice is a new vinyl top. I did the hard part of removing the old material. At a cost of $300 you could have someone put new material on the roof. It was black, but I'd go white. Once you go white, you know you got it right. That's all you would need to do to the car to make it extremely nice. So for less than $1000 invested, and a week of work, you're done.
All glass is flawless on the car and all windows roll up and down easily. Bumpers are very good with nice chrome. Not brand new, but nice. No dents, bends, scratches or peeling and they shine great. Wheel trim is excellent with no dings. Tires have 90% tread. I do not have the two pieces of side trim for the passenger's side. I DO have the "Cutlass" emblems that were removed and the "S" emblems that go on the sides of the roof (I removed them when taking off the vinyl). I will put these back on before the car is sold. I have prolly left out some info, but if you have any questions, please feel free to send an ebay message. I will answer as soon as I can.
Winner of the auction: No deposit is required, however, I do require full payment within three (3) days of the end of the auction via bank to bank wire transfer ONLY! No exceptions unless you are paying cash in person and have already viewed the car in person PRIOR to bidding! Again, NO cash payments unless you have ALREADY SEEN THE CAR and are 100% sure you want it. In addition, cash payers are to send a non-refundable deposit of $500 via paypal immediately after the auction ends, prior to showing up. I'm just trying to avoid being "talked down" after the fact. Thank you and good luck!
