You know what they call that? "Convertible weather." It's a luxury that we don't get often here in Chicago and especially not in January. Luckily just staring at this stunning drop-top 1974 Oldsmobile Delta 88 Convertible is enough to warm us up inside and really yearn for some of that "convertible weather."Every time we list one of these big and beautiful GM land yachts especially a convertible the phone lines light up. Every loves these cars and they are such a pleasure to drive and cruise in on sunny weekends to car shows cruise nights and late at night under the stars.HIGHLIGHTS:455 Cubic inch Olds Rocket V/8Factory Air-ConditioningFactory Power SteeringFactory Power Front Disc BrakesFactory Power TopRebuilt TransmissionSilky Red PaintBeautiful white interior With the long-term love affair and popularity for these big-bodied GM convertibles It's hard to find a nice and clean factory example that truly stands out. And that's exactly what we have here. Walking around this car you really get a sense of 70's nostalgia that makes you want to jump right over the door into the driver's seat and take off into the sunset. It's always nice to see something different and with so many people driving a new everyday car and even tons of classic convertible Camaros and Chevelles it's time to buy something that will stand out in the crowd when you take it out to dinner at night. You know you'll be sure to get front row VIP valet parking at your favorite restaurant every time. Be sure to get a window seat because all you'll want to do is sit there and stare at how beautiful her lines are those sexy curves oh right! Don't forget to compliment your date too! This '74 Delta Convertible was restored with care and attention to detail. For a such a big car it's a wonder how when you look down the sides shes straight and smooth. Someone really took some time to do some great bodywork and then laid out a nice and glossy red paint job. Best of all this classic 'Olds is sure to wrap its occupants in sunny open-air bliss and good times! This car comes to us from the beautiful Mesa Arizona (so stop worrying about the Chicago winter and salt and rust) and this fully sorted convertible's previous owners look like they were into taking great care of their car. From the great looking paint and detailed interior to things like new power steering hoses new alternator new battery new mufflers and new chrome exhaust tips new fuel tank rebuilt transmission and a big new custom built aluminum radiator to keep this baby running cool even on those hot July days across the country. If that's not enough for you though the air conditioning blows ice-cold and is sure to get the job done. The chrome and stainless trim is remarkably restrained for the era with excellent bumpers and polished stainless details that are very well preserved. In the restoration process all of the rubber weather seals on the windshield post doors and trunk lid were removed and replaced. The rubber weather belt molding seals were also removed and replaced when the car was repainted. In looking at the detail that went into this car it appears to have been a costly project and now you can own it for a fraction of the cost and NONE of the headaches involved in restoring it. Just turn the key and GO.Inside this Beautiful Olds delta 88 you'll notice in the pictures it still looks great from the wood grain dash to the clean door panels and side trim. Both the front and rear seats are in great shape as well. The factory seat belts are still in great shape. There is a full power top that operates great tucking the impeccable white top into its place. However if you're a true convertible guy or gal living out West or on the coast you may never see it! There is a custom matching red convertible top boot cover that was made for the car and fits better than most ever did by GM. All the snaps line up nicely and makes putting the top down quite easy. The car still retains its factory radio but also has a nice JVC AM/FM CD player mounted under the dash (which we have better hidden in a black box and cleaned up a bit you wont see it in the photos here but we can send a photo of how it looks now by request.)Everything works on this car from the headlights to parking lights turn signals etc. with just over 99550 original miles showing on the odometer this 455 rocket V8 moves this Olds effortlessly off the line and accelerates smoothly thanks to the newly rebuilt automatic transmission. It's completely stock (minus the added JVC CD player) so it's happy on pump gas and the service is easy. The dual exhaust adds a few horsepower and gives it a quiet little rumble on the road and the TH400 3-speed automatic transmission always chooses the right gear. The undercarriage shows that this car didn't spend any time in the rust belt. It's quite solid and the incomparably smooth ride is something you only get from a 1970s luxury car. Original steel wheels and wire hubcaps are a true traditional luxury look and they ride on new Cooper Trendsetters 235/75/15 whitewall radials at all four corners as well as the spare tire. By the way did you see how clean that trunk is back there?Affordable luxury with a power convertible top and 455ci of pure American power never looked as good as it does here. Not everyone has to be an Oldsmobile fan to love a big luxurious red car like this one. You'll just have to make room in your garage cause after one look it's hard to look away. Don't take too long cleaning out the garage though or this one will be gone!Exterior PhotosInterior PhotosEngine PhotosVehicle Details:
