Description:

1987 Nissan Maxima

I have two 5-speed 3.0 liter Nissan Maxima that I've been saving for years but I'm never going to get around to restoring them.
This auction is for the black one that is missing the correct title -- it's either a 1986 or 1987 -- I'll have to check.
Their value is in the 5-speed manual and 3.0 liter engine set-ups. The bodies are solid -- but not perfect -- but interiors are in need of work.
Tree fell on hood of silver one.Other minor piece missing from interior and exterior of both cars but nothing expensive or hard to find.
Will need to be towed or trailered.
I have the original aluminum rims for both; they are probably worth $100 each all by themselves. I believe that I even have a full set of spare rims too -- OEM and just like the original stock aluminum rims shown on the black car and on my wagon.
The guy that I bought if from in TN never sent me the title.I've had the police run it though and it is not stolen and doesn't have a lien against it.
Both the black and silver cars are 5-speeds and both have great engines and transmissions but they need help to get them back running as they've been setting for 10 years. Interiors are dirty and dried up. No significant rust on either vehicle. They have never been driven in the winter.
I stopped driving the silver one due to a power steering leak in the hose. I just had the timing belt changed on it when I ended up parking it. Now the fuel pump is bad on it. Ran perfectly before that.
I was driving the black one when I ran it out of gas and I never got it running again after that. Not sure if there is a reset switch on it but it was running perfectly. The timing belt did not snap on it -- simply ran out of gas from not paying attention.
I also have an automatic Nissan Maxima wagon that I'd drive coast to coast. It runs awesome but it has to be warmed up so the transmission fluid gets hot because the filter needs changed -- but the filter is inside the transmission and not easy to change, so I just have to drive it this way for now. I'd sell it for $3,000 but I am not that motivated to sell it as it's my favorite car of all time.
Restored, these cars could be worth $5,000 - $10,000 and they really would not be hard to get to that condition.
I have the title for the silver one and another title for a 1986 or 87 Maxima but it doesn't match the black one. Either the seller didn't send me the correct title or he didn't send one at all -- I don't remember as I bought it 15 years ago.
