1989 Nissan Other

I've owned this for approximately 2 years after purchasing from the guy who imported it from Japan. Currently has ~107,500km (67,000 miles). There is lots of information on these on the internet. Note that the color is not original (you can see the original blue under the hood).
Work done:- Replaced the carburetor with a Weber carburetor and a manual choke- Replaced timing belt and water pump- Fixed electrical fault in A/C (now blowing cold)- Replaced battery a few months ago
Existing issues:- Roof doesn't open (motor is working, but a gear or something isn't catching; I haven't tried to fix it)- No heat (heater core was leaking when I purchased it; seller included a replacement, but I bypassed the heater core rather than replacing it as I rarely need heat in Houston)- Rust visible on both rocker panels (see pictures)
