1953 Nash Ambassador Super

I am not committed to the listed price: Make a sincere best offer and I will consider it without prejudice. Just between you and me, Collector Car "Asking Prices" have gotten really out of hand.
Short Version:
1953 Nash Ambassador Super (manufactured 01/1953). California car since new, purchased at H. Floyd Brown, Riverside and owned by one woman, Dorothy Wells surviving her spuse, until sold 2010. Original California plate HVU 001. Less than 14,000 original miles certified "Box A". Rarely driven car.
High-end yellow repaint commissioned by Mrs. Wells. Interim owner embraced the Yellow Cab idea with door/decals. We decided that since the original Champagne color had been changed to Taxi yellow, and it looks so distinctly great, that we might as well run with it, so installed meter and Travis Bickle driver plate (DeNiro, Taxi Driver). The Taxi motif could be easily undone.
Drives beautifully: So smooth and easy. Comfortable riding. Easy handling. Very, very unique. Heater. No AC. Original null factory radio plate and clock. (Mrs. Wells was from a time when foolish things like these weren't needed. In fact, the car is very much like our Model T except with a lot more power and comfort.)
New tires. New upholstery. New headliner. New carpeting with sound-proofing. Underside of dash (behind the dash) looks like it did when it came off the line. All glass is excellent with decals going back to the car's beginnings. Spare and jack in trunk. Rooftop Taxi sign is magnetic. Car easily returned to non-Taxi. 1952 Shop manual and 1953 supplement included. Zero Rust.
Probably not useable for Uber, but wouldn't it work great for that?

Longer Version:
Just finished new brake cylinders and master cylinder, bleeding and adjust. (Not worn, just unused and the fluid was not changed out leading to terrible congestion in the brake lines and cylinders.) Cleared all the lines and added new rebuilt components. New wiring firewall on with a labeled fuse block since only a circuit breaker used in factory assembly. Rebuilt Carter YH carburetor (same as used in Blue Flame 6, corvette - but only one rather than three). Engine service transmission service: Torpedo proof Hydra-Matic that shifts positively - up and down - as it should. Runs and stops like a dream. Chrome Petty nude on hood
I'm a Nash Club member. Some particulars for those who care:
Body was styled by Pinin Farina for Nash. The hood ornament was designed by renowned pinup artist George Petty (Esquire, and many other publications). It is slightly different than the original owing to her "wings" bearing in the front, being removed during re-chroming, and exposing her breasts more openly. There were 1273 built in that model year. The engine is the (matching) 252.6 Cubic Inch, Carter YH side draft carbureted overhead valve 6 cylinder producing about 120 horsepower, and overall car weighing about 3400 pounds. It is 209 inches in length. Except for its length, it is the approximate weight and horsepower of our Honda Element.
The Hydra-Matic is a four speed and cruises comfortably at 65 to 70 mph. (A very positive feeling down- and up-shift.) As well, the Park feature, which locks the transmission in place to keep the car from rolling, is activated by placing the selector into Reverse and shutting off the engine; When preparing to drive, turn on the ignition and after a moment to allow disengagement, move selector to Neutral and pull up on the selector to engage the starter (a Safety feature). The Emergency Brake is engaged by depressing the brake pedal and withdrawing the E Brake lever.
The seats make into a bed, and thus, the car was not a very popular car with fathers whose daughters were dating someone who drove a Nash...
The Taxi Meter is period correct but not hooked up: There was no point since it is not functionally important to the car. To keep the mounting less invasive, I welded a brace that bolts to the upper floor pan-firewall and doesn'timpedeaccessby passengers; I didn't want to drill the dash - it was factory perfect. The side markings are correct for 1953 as to Fare Prices (about twenty cents a mile) and the "153" designates the car's date of manufacture.
It's just a wonderful and very unique automobile: Perfect for car shows and cruising, even longer distances. You may drive this car with confidence and just about anywhere you like, from my perspective.

At this time the passenger wing window does not actuate by the handle. All others work as should. I have to replace the cable activating the air filter system. Bought it: just haven't done it yet.
