1929 Nash Advanced 6 Rumble-Seat Coupe - New Interior - Inlaid German Silver
1929 Nash
Offered for sale is a 1929 Nash Model 460 Advanced 6, Rumbleseat Coupe.
This car has a Seaman body built in Milwaukee. Seaman was originally founded as a furniture manufacturer in 1848, but after World War I Seaman shifted to into making automobile and truck bodies. In 1917 Nash, another Wisconsin-based company located in Kenosha, purchased a half interest in Seaman, though Seaman continued to build bodies for other manufacturers. By 1937 Nash purchased all the outstandingshares in Seaman and the company later went on to become part of the American Motor Company, or AMC.
The Advanced 6 model of the 460 Coupe features a 7 main-bearing engine and overhead valves firing 12 spark plugs on twin ignition.
This car is equipped with Trippe driving lights, a golf club door, and a rumble seat. The interior is all leather and cost $9,000 to be completely restored. It also sports the Cabriolet roof with the Landau irons as shown in the Salon Group brochure.
Most notably, this car feature wires wheels. These alone add significant value to the car as it is more common to see artillery-style, large-spoke wheels or disc wheels on these models.
At one time, White Glove Collection owned two of these 460 Coupes, the other was purchased by the Dahl Auto Museum of La Crosse, Wisconsin where it remains today. This would be a treasure to add to any collection.
