BARN FIND 1936 NASH LAFAYETTE TOURING VICTORIA, STREET ROD PROJECT MAYBE
1936 Nash Touring Victoria
This is a "barn find" 1936 Nash LaFayette Touring Victoria. This is a very rare car and is coming out of many years of storage. It has awesome street rod potential. It still has the original engine which turns over freely and a stock 3 speed transmission. I have not started it up. I am leaving that excitement to the new owner. It has a funky paint job on it but that is going to be redone for sure when someone makes a street rod out of it which I am sure will happen. The body lines on the fenders, hoodand body have art deco stylingto them. There is also an art deco style in the hood ornament and the beautiful grille. The body is 99% rust free. No blisters in the lower 1/4 panels, doors, or lower cowl panels. The lower lip on the trunk lid and the body trunk lid lip area are not rusted out or damaged as usually happens with these 30's cars. The interior and gauges are stock yet. The interior has had an amateur back yard upholstery job done on it though. This is the second series of the 1936 Lafayette so it has the stock artillery wheels and the beautiful cast "waterfall" style grille and the grille is in excellent condition. The first version of the 1936 Nash LaFayette is less desirable than the second asthefirst versionhad steel disc wheels and a lessornate stamped steelgrille. The torpedo styled hood ornament is original and is very cool. The original LaFayette cloisonné emblems are still on the grille and trunk lid. The car can be seen at 4440 SE 174th Avenue in Portland Oregon (out towards Gresham). Email me with your questions or come on out and take a look at it.
