Description:

1989 Mitsubishi Montero

1989 Mitsubishi Pajero --- Runs great, shifts great, 4x4, turbo diesel, fiberglass high top (rare option on the import only), 175,195 miles (281,950k kilometers). Mitsubishi Pajero, also badged as the Mitsubishi Montero or the Dodge Raider in the states. Goes without saying that these are very rare and hard to come by. Was imported from Japan, right hand drive, kilometers, japanese badging, etc. I get looks everywhere I go in this thing, great collectors car and will definitely appreciate in value over the years. I have had many others in the past I wish I was able to hang on to, this will be the same.
I was lucky enough to have one of the previous owners reach out to me and give me a list of things that he had done to the Pajero and a little history on it. After he got it, he had the engine rebuilt, trans freshened up. The entire frame has been replaced, the suspension bushings, frame bushings and shocks also replaced at the same time, he also put a new steering box on it. He said it apparently had been all over Europe touring before it came to the states.
If you know these things you know they were not made for speed the 4D56t was rated 83 horsepower, and you will get ran over merging onto the interstate, but will maintain 70-80 mph no problem. You will also see some black smoke on inclines (unburned fuel). There are a couple of small areas of rust on the body underneath the sticker you see in pics and the rear passenger quarter, the paint is also not perfect. All original everything. As far as mechanics go I don't have anything bad to say other than just a couple of small oil drips when parked, that is all it leaks. It always starts up without issue and does not have any blowby. All of the gauges work, even the altimeter. Has new goodyear wrangler tires and new exhaust. NIB turbo will come with it.
It is sold AS-IS, buyer is responsible for vehicle pickup or we can figure out some shipping arrangement. No, I would not buy this and drive it back to where ever you live. Not that I don't think it would make it there but like I said it is slow and I also have not driven it that long of distance.
I will accept cash in person on pickup, I will accept paypal so long as there are no fees on my end or bankwire. Item Photos
