CLASSIC MINI CITY 1000Up for sale is me and my wife's pride and joy our 1981 limited edition Mini City 1000. Let me introduce you to Garfield. I will try to make this a sweet as possible for you all that are reading this. Let me start out by saying this our two minis are by far the cleanest and nicest minis around believe that. I am not going to go on a tangent about how I replaced the engine and modified it to a honda fit or how I changed the shell rebuilt painted doors and whatever else you can think of or have seen with all these other ebay auctions. I hate to see a pretty gem go to waste my opinion. Garfield has had one owner then us. I lived in England for sometime and got into the mini them in 2002. Me and my wife dug this limited edition one which they only made 1000 of these from an older lady who's husband had died in 1986. He had it from new and used it as a daily driver. I found it in 2003 which it had been sitting for nearly 17 years in her garage after he passed away she never drove it again. I told my wife we had to have this car. This car has been garage kept for all of its 34 year life. I have had it since 2003 and it has been in our garage along with the yellow one Oldie.Before i transferred from England me and my wife decided to strip apart a third one for spares as well. Everything on this car is all ORIGINAL. The only thing I did was clean the engine very well chrome it out with new parts switched all the chrome you see from the original black weathering which I have all the parts for. Put in a radio for some music and brought brand new mini light wheels in 2003 which have less than 200 miles on them. Since the 8 years we have been home they have been to 4 car shows and won them all which was nearby. we have only put about 500 miles between them both. This car has to be the smoothest shifting mini I have ever drove and that is why we have had them so long because these are our babies. I could go on and on about this car but there is no need for that. I am an honest person and been in the military for 20 years so I mean what I say. The only reason I am willing to let this one go is because i need some money to pay off bills and by myself a truck. These cars get much love when afforded the time but with our schedule and with a little one I feel like I am neglecting them. Now if you think this one is nice you should see the yellow one. That one is not for sale you would have to argue with the wifey on that one because its hers. that one is a 79 with only 23k on it. Like I said I am not going to get deep with this because if you know mini's then you would understand the value an original car that has not been touched as far as modification. This is our heart other than my daughter she means a lot to use and is very sentimental when it comes to our family when we would take her to car shows in England the brits even wondered where I found her and offered much money for this one. I can promise you this if you find another Mini City 1000 gem like this one I would love to see it.
