Available for sale is our 1960 MG MGA 1600 MKI Coupe. The MGA coupes are much less common than the roadsters, with a total of 932 LHD cars built in 1960 (826 of which were for North America), and add some neat features. Along with the fixed roof, the coupes include roll up windows, locking doors, exterior door handles, kick panel pockets, a center armrest, padded dashboards, and a few other unique bits. The car is finished in British Racing Green over Black. Overall, the A remains very original, and is a fun driver. It had a general refresh around 20 years ago by a previous owner, then was essentially parked with only 700 miles or so driven in around two decades. In the year we've had the car, we've added around another 2,000 miles. We've sorted out many of the remaining details, including replacing the 20-year-old "new" tires, resolving brake fluid, fuel, and at least some of the oil leaks, and changing the battery, water pump, thermostat, and other random parts to get it to the point where I feel comfortable just getting in the car and driving a hundred miles or so in a day. All the electricals work. It's neither a $10k basket case, nor a $40k show car. On the negative side... there's oil consumption and leakage of course, but if you oil back in the top as it runs out the bottom, the car keeps on rolling. The trunk floor is rusty, and should eventually be repaired. This doesn't affect the drivability of the car, and the replacement panel for the worst section has been obtained and will be included in the sale. There is some bubbling in the tail panel that should be addressed at the same time, but otherwise, rust is not a big problem for the car. In short, the A is a blast to drive as long as you don't need to go over 74 miles per hour, and a car and you can enjoy just as it sits, or continue to improve. Odometer appears to have been reset at the refresh, and currently shows around 2,500 miles, but true miles are unknown.Your bid or Buy it Now is a contract to purchase, not to consider.
